Mission: Deadly Diplomacy

[CONTINUED]

When everyone had arrived, Sam stood. "Good morning. Before opening the discussion, I would like your reports."

Ilse spoke up first. "The female found with injuries is healing nicely. She is able to leave Sickbay when she feels she wants to. I suggest that she meet with Dr. Barak to discuss what occurred in her own time of course." She took a sip of her beverage and continued "The autopsies have shown that the person who did the killing knew what they were doing, and per quite proficient at it." Frost paused

"I concur. Lieutenant Barak, Private Benson will need to talk to you before she is cleared to go back to duty," Sam said.

"Absolutely," Arnon replied. "Have her commanding officer send her to me and I'll see her right away."

She turned to Frost, Storm and Andrews. "Did you do a forensic analysis of the bodies?"

Andrews kept quiet for the moment; this line of questioning was best answered by the Doc.

Frost frowned at the science officer and spoke again. "Ma'am the assailant appeared to know what they were doing, extremely proficient. I have not had time to confer with Security or the Intelligence departments but I believe that they might agree that the nature of the wounds and depth and attack angles would make the assailant most likely a male, maybe five eleven to close to six one or two in height. I am not sure about anything else at this time as not all the toxicology tests or the others that I had sent to the labs have come back yet."

Andrews had noticed the Doc's frown and spoke. " We're running the tox screens as we speak; I am hoping that the results will be in before the end of this meeting. The idea of the assailant being a male is open, to me at least - it could be a female with a 'grudge' against the murdered party and hoping to pin the murder on the other delegates." Andrews com badge beeped. "Excuse me. Andrews here go." Another voice came on the line. "Lieutenant, we ran blood samples for everything in the book - couldn't find any known poisons." Andrews looked at the group. "Very well. Thank you for getting it done for the meeting. Andrews out. " She turned to Doctor Frost. "So much for any poisons. "

Frost nodded

Blackcat frowned. The Octavians were easily just as large as the men, assumptions, he thought to himself. He himself remembered a certain self styled amazoness who he'd enjoyed a daliance or two with, and she was over 8 feet tall. Not to mention a doctor commenting on the efficiency of an attack, clearly security's bailiwick there, not medical's.

Leroy spoke up next after taking another sip of his drink. "We have the shuttle debris in Hanger two, and it sealed. I'd like, if we can spare them, a couple of Marines guarding the doors, and at least one member of EOD helping me get through it all. Tricorder isn't giving me much but I'm not a scientist and can't exactly tell the difference between bomb parts and shuttle parts."

Cam nodded, "that's easy enough. I've only got three EOD qualified Marines so I'm sure one of them would love to help, and you'll have your guards as well. Just tell them who's aloud inside and they'll make sure that only those people get in"

"Did you get the urns for the Panerians?" Sam asked Frost.

"I have not seen them yet. The bodies are still in the morgue in a nice chilly state. When we are finished here I will check once more." Frost replied to York and made a note on her PADD to remind herself to get that accomplished.

"Da communications connection is a work in progress, the Ship's systems are being modulated to the exascting frequency of the Vance Comm Identity and we hope to send out a 'Ping'; not unlike a Sonar ping in hopes that whomever used the signal as the lock will not have changed it and we will get a acknowledgment of signal recieved. That can be scanned by sensors in conjunction with our transmission. It could give us an idea if they are lurking about?" Munich explained in his stronger German accent that came when under pressure.

"Thank you, Lieutenant Munich," Sam said. "Keep me informed of your progress."

"I have prepared other Living arrangements for the new delegation in conjunction with the OPS department." SPartacus informed. "There is some research into the origins and the records submitted by both parties towards Federation applications that I filtered some hypothesis." She tapped her PADD. "Both sides have vague accounts of what provoked the war but in reading their history they were once one colony and the Octurians were the Colony from the Homeworld. The data suggests tensions about the ruling classes and these differences escalated and war ensued."

"Good. I don't think they'll want to be near where their compatriots were murdered," Sam said.

"My marines are ready for deployment if needed. For now we'll work with Security on securing the ship" Cam reported simply as all in all he didn't have much to report.

"Good. After the meeting, I'd like to talk to you about the special assignment," Sam said, referring to the beating in Vance's quarters.

Andrews turned to Dr. Frost. "What's next?"

Frost leaned over slightly to Andrews and whispered "That is for her to decide, she is in charge."

Andrews nodded, "Gotcha."

Sam glanced at Frost, one eyebrow raised. "Do you have something you wish to share with the class?" she asked the doctor.

"If this were a class..." Frost's eye twinkled with mischievous humor as her cheeky side came out, it used to get her in trouble in the Academy who knew what it would do here. "I would say yes Ma'am I could enlighten you about the delicate procedures and how they occur to slice open a dead body or how whip marks are excruciating to the patient and how psychological barrage on a frequent basis such treatment tends to wear on a person if treated that way regularly not just psychologically but physically as well. Instead I will respond with No, Commodore I have nothing to add at this time." With that Ilse smiled at the woman and took a sip of her tea and thought to herself ~~Frost, shut you mouth. That is twice in one day. All in the same meeting.~~
