| Personal History | Ilse Frost had been called many things in her career, in her life. Most of them were perceptions from others that were inaccurate and untrue. So, she ignored them, instead she had been oblivious to some things and aware to others. One of her awareness's was that she found out at the early age of five or six that she cared for things, all kinds of things. It was when for the hundredth time that she brought home a slow moving beetle or bird that had fallen from the tree that her mother had finally shook her head at her youngest daughter and said "You should follow in your grandmothers shoes, she likes to 'fix' things too." So Ilse happily started to follow her grandmother around and learned things about how birds hatched from eggs just as turtles did, and most insects. She learned other things as well, how to set a bone without needing to go to the doctor. About how most plants could be used in medicine in one form or another. Many things. But she also took all of that for granted until she found her grandmother lying still on her greenhouse floor, never to wake again. It had broken Ilse's heart that no matter what she tried she could not wake her grandmother and she wanted to desperately 'fix' her. As she watched the medical staff of the Colony come and take her Grandmother away she became more determined then ever to continue down the avenue her grandmother had shown her. Soon afterwards her family moved from the Colony DeColores to Starbase 214 she started school and absorbed as much as she could, Her parents moved randomly and Ilse learned that she enjoyed space. Eventually, Ilse headed off to medical school and her twin, Alyse went the opposite direction, she went into the arts and became a famous musician. Ilse then enlisted in Starfleet, she enjoyed her classes, she had fun. Eventually she graduated and was assigned her first assignment back of all places Starbase 214, It felt like home and she saw friends that she hadn't seen in a long time. Soon though she wanted more, and she applied to be transferred to a medical ship. She served there for three years and was transferred once more to another ship, she eventually became the Assistant Chief Medical officer and served in that position for many years and then was transferred to the USS Annin after the Greentree was decommissioned. Serving on the Annin but a year, it too was decommissioned and she headed to the USS Ares as one of the various Medical personnel. It was suggested to her that she might be ready for a Chief Medical Officers Position so she set her sights high, the highest they could be and went for a the flag ship of the fleet. She was transferred to the USS Calypso after the previous Chief Medical Officers personal life required her to step back and refocus. |
