Personality & Traits
General Overview | Cameron looks and acts like a Career Marine. His respect is earned, not automatically given to those he meets. He dose give a certain level of respect to his commanding officer but that only stretches so far. He only occasionally gives second chances and doesn’t offer third chances. He can often be found in an Observation Lounge or ships Bar, sitting near a window, sketching one thing or another. |
|
Strengths & Weaknesses | As a result of his Marine Recon training, his physical strength is higher than average. His naturally strong hand-eye co-ordination and ‘gut feeling’ developed throughout his career. As a result of his time along the Cardassian Boarder, He occasionally has nightmares about what he saw, piles of bodies, Humans chained in cages and seemingly endless waves of Jem'Hadar. As a result, Cameron can be withdrawn and often is a little hostile when questioned about that time in his career |

Personal History | Born on Earth, he was raised by his parents as a normal child, until the age of 18 when he left to join Starfleet’s Marine Corp Academy and was accepted. During his 18 months of training, he was trained in the use of several types of phasers and disruptors. After he completed his training, Cameron was sent to Starbase 39-Sierra to join the Marine unit onboard. Over the next three years, Cameron learnt, the hard way, the ins and outs of Marine Corp life as well as Station life. His next posting was to Betazed. He often wondered why Starfleet put a Marine Corp Detachment on a planet so safe as Betazed, but he was in no position to argue Federation Policy. Over the next four years, all his unit did was daily PT, the occasional drill and a few promotion ceremonies for admirals and the like. At the end of his fourth year, Cameron was assigned to a Marine Recon unit assigned to the Cardassian boarder to help monitor the situation in the Cardassian DMZ between the Maquis and the Cardassian Colonists. This was quite a change of pace for Cameron and he often says that this was when he really started his career. Two years later, Camerons unit was caught on the wrong side of the Klingon Invasion of Cardassia. After hiding in an abandoned Maquis colony for a few months, his unit is able to hop a transport back to a federation colony. Cameron returned to the Cardassian DMZ, but this time as part of the Federation Alliance’s planet side defence against the Dominion. As the Dominion War went on, Cameron went on dozens of missions to gather Intel, perform assassinations and recover lost soldiers. After the end of the Dominion War, Cameron retired from Starfleet and returned to Earth. Over the next four years, Cameron tried to settle down and start a family, but after several failed relationships, Cameron travelled to San Francisco to Starfleet Command and re-enlisted. After several months of retaining, Cameron was assigned the USS Normandy, an Excelsior Lakota Variant Class, under Captain Sheppard. During his first year on the Normandy, Cameron was assigned to the Security Detachment as the Normandy was considered at the time too small to warrant a Marine Detachment. However, during his second year, he was asked by Captain Sheppard to evaluate the Normandy for an onboard Marine Detachment. After his evaluation, he recommended that a marine detachment be tested for effectiveness. Cameron served on the Normandy for four years, until he was transferred to Starbase 204 as part of their Marine Corp Detachment. During his second year on the station, a Recon mission into Breen Space went horribly wrong, trapping him along with several other marines in an extreme survival situation. With the rest of his squad killed in the impact of the shuttle crash, he overcame physical torment and psychological stress that would have broken most people to survive long enough to be recovered by Marine Commandos. Having sustained a broken left arm and multiple other injuries, Cameron was sent to the hospital ship USS Bach for recovery. During his several months in rehabilitation and the reconstruction, he was notified of his promotion to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. After he had recovered, Cameron was assigned to Deep Space 4 as their Marine Recon Platoon. During the next four years, he participated in several recon missions into both Cardassian and Romulan Space to gather information about fleet movements and division deployment. During his Fifth year on the boarder, he was grabbed by Orion slavers and sold to a mine. After almost a year there, spending most of his time in isolation for killing several inmates and bloodying up a few guards, the crew of the USS Calypso joined him in the mine. After escaping with them, he unofficially joined the crew. a few days later, his transfer to the USS Calypso was made official and he was placed as their Delta Platoon Leader with the rank of Master Sergeant. A few months later, the ships MCO was killed, leaving a void in the command position. As the senior enlisted onboard, Cam was chosen to fill the roll and after completing some studies he was given a commission and the rank of 2nd Lt. |
