Tav entered, wearing jeans, flip-flop sandals and a t-shirt; his style never changed much. Janet walked in beside him, taller and leaner than he was, she was a long cream-coloured summer dress, but still maintained her hair short and formal-looking. She didn't want to give the impression she was enjoying a party, afterall.

Noelle continued to mingle with the rest of the crew attempting to get to know them. It was difficult for the young marine sgt who was used to being somewhat of a loner.
Quickly stepping up to the side of his XO. "How's it going Lieutenant?"
Noelle looked up at Leo "I'm mingling. Kind of." She said "How are things going with you?" She asked as Tav came over and spoke.
"Evening," Tav greeted Noelle as he passed by on the way to the bar. "You look like you're lost."
Noelle looked up "Not necessarily lost. Just out of place." She said taking a drink "Second Lt Noelle Ghassan." She said extending her hand
"Tav Ross," he replied, grasping her hand and shaking it gently. "Chief Engineer and dogs-body."
"So why's a marine out of place in a social gathering? I was under the impression the corps encouraged you to bond in big groups?"
"They do encourage bonding. I've never been really big on it. It's a flaw I've been working on." She said "My last posting was mostly solitary duty with little interaction, so this is a bit odd for me." She said "I'm still getting my space legs so to speak." Noelle said.
Leo jumped in at this point and looked at his XO. "We're taught to work in teams, but not to socialize in teams. With my Exec's background, I expect her to be a little hesitant before trying to meet new people." Looking back at Tav, he smiled. "And how's Engineering treating you?"
----
Callen walked through the crowd and finally she spotted Tav by the door with another woman. Her heart sank to the ground, thinking that she severly screwed things up. Shaking things off she walked threw the crowd and up to Tav and stated jokingly, "Long time no see."
"It's only been a couple of days, and you haven't needed anything repairing," Tav joked, smiling. "How have you been?"
He turned his full attention to Callen having finished the other conversation.
"Little busy," she confessed to him, "You?" Taking a step closer to him and having a devilsh smile on her face.
"I'm always busy, people never stop wrecking technology," he replied. "But I'm always free for a drink, even if it's in a jefferies tube under the comms array."
Callen wrapped her arms around Tav only being nose to nose to him and stated, "So am I. But maybe with out the drink."

Kyt stepped onto one of the boats, and was glad that it wobbled, appropriately. "I'm commandeering this ship!" She said to the holographic pilot, and shoved him into the water. "Anyone else for a go about the bay? Bring your own alcohol."
Sam heard the splash and looked towards the lake. Oh dear. At least it was a holographic person and not a real one Kyt threw into the lake. Sam sighed and turned back to the party.
====
Damon walked into the room and tried to look as inconspicuous as possible. He had recently heard word from Starfleet that he would indeed be acting as the Calypso's Executive Officer, but he didn't want to make a big deal of it. He still considered himself a Marine, probably would until the day he died.
He walked over to the bar and asked for a beer. Hopefully that would take the edge off the social gathering.
Robert smiled and set a large stein in front of Damon.
Sam felt Damon walk onto the holodeck and smiled. He was here. It was enough for her to know he'd shown up. Later, she'd ask him to go for a walk around the lake. But now, she turned back to greet the latest arrival.
Kyt's boat re-parked. She approached the bar. "Two mugs of rum. Can't be pirating ships without rum."
Robert nodded. He walked into the back room and returned a moment later with two tankards of 18th century-esque rum.
Kyt gladly accepted this, and brought it onto her commandeered vessel. "Yo, ho, Scurvy dogs! Set sail!"
Daniels shook his head, and returned to dancing with Serena.
With every one here and she was getting bored with swimming chichire dried her self-off and headed toward the band
As she reached the piano, she saw Sam and decided to play some Mozart.
Sam heard the piano music change and looked over to see who was playing. "Hi," she said to Chi. "Nice to hear you play again."
"It good to play again make's me feel relaxed I hope it does the same for you ma'am," Chichire said smiling.
"There's nothing like good music, Chi."
====
Finally, the influx was almost non-existent and the party was in full swing. Sam felt that she could safely slip away. She really didn't like large gatherings; but, as Captain it was her obligation. Especially as she was host.
But now, it was time for a little peace and quiet. She walked over to the bar and put her arms around Damon. "Hi, handsome. Care to take a poor, frazzled female for a walk around the lake?"
Damon drained the rest of the contents of his glass before putting it back on the bar. "It would be my pleasure." He said with a warm smile. He would be happy for the distraction.
Sam took his hand and together they walked out into the darkness.
