Erin scowled. ''I wouldnt be surprised if you were right. Someone here obviously was'nt happy about theese meetings. It wouldnt be a far cry to guess that something like this was staged.''

[NEW]

Gloriana watched them go, then turned to the rest of the Federation delegation. "You need to do something. Otherwise, this will undo all the good that has been done and lead us back into civil war."

Tovan checked on to make sure that everyone was alright. After confirming just that he headed to a corner and tapped his communications badge. Someone needed to let the Calypso know what has happened.

"Go ahead Tovan," came the reply from the ship.

"We have a situation down here. Commander York along with the Grand Marshal from the Coalition has been taken hostage moments ago." Tovan said with a calm and collected voice.

"Sinclair to Tovan. What happened?"

"During the conference the chamber was invaded by an unknown force. They used gas to knock out everything in the chamber and escape before anyone was able to react to them. They took Commander York and Grand Marshall and left the other two representatives."

Erin tapped her own COMMbadge. ''Tal to the XO. May we debrief as soon as possible?''

"Sinclair to Tal. Have everyone from the away team report to the conference room immediately." Karma stood and moved quickly across the bridge. "Have all senior staff report to the conference room," he called out.

''Will do.'' Erin turned to the others of the away team in the room with her.
''Damon, Tovan, Nava- Orders from Simclair. We're all to report to the conference room ASAP for debreif.''

"A debriefing will just waste time." Damon said as he began to regain his composure "Any leads we have may dry up if we don't act now."

Erin raised an eyebrow at Damon. On the one hand, it was irrational, but on the other hand- he had a good point and she knew she'd be as willing to ignore the rules if it were Kaj that had been taken.
''Tal to Sinclair. We need some time before debreif.''

Nava stood looking around for any indication as to who might have taken the Captain and Grand Marshal. She walked up to the stage and turned around and looked out into the auditorium to see if there was anything out of place or unusual.

Damon fought back the knot in his stomach and allowed his brain to take over for the next little while. He was worried for Sam and right now he couldn't afford dwelling on it for her sake.

He spoke loudly enough so that his men and women could hear him. "Okay, I want Marines to question the guards outside. I need to know how many assailants there were, where they beamed in, what kind of clothes they were wearing and how they moved. Everything and anything that might help us determine where the Captain and Grand Marshal were taken."

The Major tapped his comm badge. ==Raine to Sinclair. I can appreciate that you might want everyone back on the ship right now but we may lose out on some time sensitive information if we leave the scene right now. We can conference while we are down here, it might be a more efficient use of our time.==

"Of course, Major," Karma replied as he moved to sit in a chair in the conference to wait for the others. "We'll keep an open channel so those of you still on the planet can participate in the meeting."

Damon next looked to the Starfleet officers. "Nava, I want you to question the faction heads, use whatever excuse you need to get a dialogue going."

"Delon, search the premises. I want you to find out if maybe the assailants left something behind for us. I don't care if it's a boot print or a transporter residuals, anything might be useful." "

Erin, help out the Marines in questioning the building guards. It is entirely likely that they are involved in the plot, I want to know for sure."

"Lets keep an open comm link with the ship so we can debrief on the run."

Erin nodded, turning to find the Marines. ''Will do. If any gaurds are missing, we'll consider them suspect for now.''

Gloriana walked over to Damon. "I, too, will do what I can to help. THe peace talks must succeed if my planet is to survive."
