| Personal History | Karma was born just outside Los Angeles, California in July of 2357. Early in his life he showed an interest in gathering information about the people he interacted with. He would spend his time watching people and trying to learn everything he could about them. This carried on throughout his childhood and into his time at the Academy. While working on a project for one of his classes, Karma uncovered information about his instructor. This surprised his Instructor and earned a recommendation to apply for a place in the Intelligence Corps. After graduation Karma was assigned to the USS Malcolm as an Intelligence Analyst. Karma quickly developed an ability to sift through information to get to the relevant data. His abilities soon earned him the recognition of his superiors. Shortly after that he was made Lead Analyst and was assigned to handle the highest level of information. A year later he was transferred to the USS Santa Fe, where he again proved invaluable when he uncovered an obscure file containing information about a pirate operating in the region that led to a quick victory against the pirate forces. For his performance and assistance he was promoted to Lieutenant JG and made Chief Intelligence Officer. Two years after arriving on the USS Santa Fe was decommissioned and the crew was given a choice of transferring to another ship or taking positions at planetary facilities. Karma elected to transfer and was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to the USS Tyber. Karma spent his time on the Tyber gathering information and using that information to further the effectiveness of the ship and it's crew. A disagreement with the Commanding Officer led him to request a transfer from the ship and he was soon transferred to the USS Orion as the Chief Intelligence Officer. While serving on the Orion, Karma began taking Command level courses to improve his understanding of the Command department. He attempted and failed the Bridge Officer's course and spent much of his free time studying for another attempt. The disastrous away mission to Tiberius IV furthered his desire to move up in the ranks. When the crew of the Orion was ordered to return to Starbase Typhon for reassignment, Karma took the opportunity to retake the Bridge Officer's exam and managed to pass, earning a promotion to Lieutenant Commander. He requested a reassignment to the Command department and was granted the position of Executive Officer aboard the USS Calypso. |
