Deadly Diplomacy
Location: Conference Room

[OLD]
When everyone had arrived, Sam began. "Some time during the night, someone killed the Panerian Delegation. Ensign Sparta found them when I sent her to check on why they were late to breakfast." She waited for the news to sink in before continuing. "Security and Intel have already begun investigating. As soon as they finish the preliminaries, the bodies will be sent to sickbay for autopsies. I would like science to assist to make sure we don't miss anything. There's an obvious cause of death, but I want to make sure it isn't just to cover the real cause."
[NEW]
Sam nodded to Commander Storm. "This is Commander Thaddius Storm. He is on temporary assignment to the Calypso. He will be helping medical and science with their part of the investigation."
Lt. Andrews nodded to Commander Storm. "Nice to meet you, Commander," She said. "Though not the best of circumstances." She turned to the Doc. "Let me know when you've scheduled the autopsies, I'll be down there."
"Likewise Lieutenant." Thaddius said returning Andrews a respectful nod.
Frost looked up at the Captain a nervous look on her face "Yes Ma'am" she replied and turned towards the new face and tilted her head slightly and smiled slightly "Commander it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
"The pleasure is all mine Doctor. I look forward to working with you as well. Perhaps you can teach this old dog some new tricks." Thaddius commented cheerfully.
"Oh, I would never be bold enough to imply that I could teach anyone anything as I am a Doctor not a teacher." Frost said
"I'm sure you are a wonderful doctor and through that I will learn." Thaddius replied.
Munich was both relieved and some disappointment; he had not seen so much Command Time in his years in Star Fleet. WHile it was not his place he was just getting his head wrapped around the Idea he could be an Executive Officer.
Cam wasn't happy about this news. Having a forign dignitary killed aboard a starship was never a good thing. Things like this were used by JAG lawyers to destroy careers. Closing his eyes, he sent Kara a Telepathic Message, Kara, there's been a murder. I'll fill you in when I get back down there. Just make sure the away teams are ready.
[Marine Deck]
"Murder?" Kara's shock registered for a moment. From Cam's thoughts she gathered it had to do with one of the delegations. "I'll have everything ready for your approval when you get here. Five minutes should have teams ready to head out."
[Briefing]
"While security is investigating what happened, I would like the Marines to be on alert in case of any backlash from the Panerians."
Cam nodded, "we're already on alert status and have already secured the Marine deck. We're prepared to provide whatever help is needed"
Sam smiled at that. "Thank you. Right now, I need you on alert. There's a good chance I'll need to send away teams to the planet as well."
"Ops and Communications, I would like you to see if there's been any outside interference since the arrival of the delegates. Look for communications, for anyone sneaking onto the ship ... anything that would indicate the murders were committed by someone not on this ship."
"I will get right on it Ma'am." Munich said with the authoritive tone of his training. "If there is anything i will find it." He assured, not letting it be known that he felt if he had been in the COmm Station there is a slight chance with his knowldge of communications all his life ... well it did nto matter now.
"I remember reading a report about a Ferengi sniffer probe being used to assassinate members of the bajoran resistance aboard DS9 in the 2380's Might be a good idea to look into similar possibilities" Austin nodded in agreement.
"See what you can find," Sam told the Ops Chief. "We need all the information we can get right now."
"Leroy, I'd like you to beef up patrols in the area, in case we have any backlash."
"On it Ma'am. And its Leroy. I don't know why you guys keep calling me that disgusting nick name." Smiling he tapped a couple commands into his padd. "With your permission I'll get those patrols started."
"Ensign Spartacus, Lieutenant Jones and Lieutenant Barak, I'll need you to work with both governments to assuage fears and keep this from turning into another war."
Spartacus nod, she would support her chief as he was the man for the job, Chief Counselor was the next best thing to a delegate upon occasion and Jones would have his hands full with the Octavians.
"I'll meet with Ensign Sparta and, if it pleases the chaplain, Chaplain Jones immediately following this briefing and get caught up on the situation," Arnon replied. "Not to worry, Commodore. I'm sure the three of us can come up with a game plan and put it into action quickly."
Spartacus kept quiet as this is her Direct Commanding Officer that she is to report to. She nod in agreement as commenting would not do any good other than stating the obvious. A lady knows when it is time to speak and when to not.
"Not a problem, just say a prayer that I come back with my head, I'm sure that someone let slip to the Octavians that there was a murder and they're likely at full alert." Ignatz said with a mock groan.
"We have a lot to do and not much time before all sides will be demanding information," Sam said. "Please report your progress every six hours." She looked around the table. "I would like Admirals Hunter, Burke and Panthera to stay. I would also like Colonel Raine, Ensigns Spartacus and Sirel, Lieutenant Munich, Master Sergeant Mangalia and Captain Bourne, please stay, I would like to talk to you separately. The rest of you are dismissed."
Frost stood and left, a small pucker on her forehead.
