Andrews looked first at Lizzie then back to the Doctor. "I'm not really sure, I've just recently transferred here." Andrews looked around at the mingling crew. "It does appear to be an nice 'ice breaker.' "
[NEW]
Ilse smiled "Me too, I came form the Ares, you?"
Andrews's eyebrows registered surprise. "The Ares? That was my last post as well. Small World." She smiled.
Ilse laughed "I think its a small universe. Although I do not remember you. So we must have been on different shifts. I often worked nights."
"And you, what department do you work in?" Ilse asked Lizzie
"So what entertaining things are there to do." Ilse asked
"Dancing, horseback riding, hiking, socializing," Lizzie said, gesturing around the room as she spoke. "And there's lots to eat, too."
Ilse nodded politely as she noted the other woman had not said what department she worked in. Ilse would have to look it up later, like she did with most of the crew. The newly arrived doctor continued to smile although she felt a bit overwhelmed and at lost here not knowing many people. She had heard rumors of how things had gone on the planet as a few patients had spoken briefly about it. Rumors were a hard thing to believe but it would explain why not many of the staff had shown themselves at this party. It was early in the evening though. Her com-badge chirped...
=Sickbay to Dr. Frost.=
Ilse tapped it lightly.
"Frost here"
=Doctor, the poison patient is...=
a flurry of noise and yelling occurred, machines started to beep and Frost heard.
=Doctor hurry=
Ilse Frost smiled apologetically at Lizzie and Roberta. "Duty calls"
With that the blonde doctor half ran out of the holodeck towards the Infirmary.
Korok stretched and paused in the gym and thought he should head back to his quarters to prepare for the party tonight. When he arrived his computer was chiming at him that he was already late. He grumbled at himself he hadn't intended to be so long. It had felt so good to beat the punching bag and let that tension he felt, out, with the impact against the bag every time he hit it. As he had punched the bag Korok had been formulating things in his mind on how the night should go, if the time would be right. If he could get her alone long enough to talk to her and now, now he had messed it up.
Korok went to take his shower and then with deliberate care he chose some denim type pants, newly replicated that Maia had said would be appropriate for this type of party, he added a brand new shirt too, a really soft shirt that was royal blue in color, over that he pulled on a brown vest. He pulled his brown boots back on they were worn and scuffed but they were all he had. He tied his hair back with its leather tie and groomed his facial hair.
"Computer what is the location of Lieutenant Roberta Andrews"
'Lieutenant Roberta Andrews is in the holodeck"
Korok growled at himself in anger and he slid into his pocket a small item and headed out the door and hoped that he wasn't too late and that she would not be too upset. He entered the holodeck with a grimace on his face. This time instead of being a waiter he was a guest and it made him feel slightly out of place. Until he saw Maia and Gaia speaking with a woman. He walked over and stuck out his hand in greeting. "Ma'am, Korok Lukk."
Sam turned to the Klingon and shook his hand. "Samantha York. Welcome."
Korok placed his hand on top of Samantha's as he shook hers. He spoke in a sincere quiet growl and smiled. "Thank you and its a pleasure to make your acquaintance Samantha York." Out of the corner of his eye he saw the person he had been asked to escort to this party and he glanced up. "Ladies if you'll excuse me." He released her hand and gave her a slight bow and grinned at Maia and Gaia even as his eyes glanced back across the room.
Sam glanced over to Roberta and smiled. "Go right ahead."
Gaia had watched where his eyes had traveled and raised an eyebrow at the tall dark haired woman, she nudged Maia slightly.
Maia smiled and nodded, "Go ahead Korok, this is your night to enjoy as well as anyone else. Just do not disappear and as always arrive for your shift on time."
Korok grinned again and nodded "I do not plan on going any where that involves not being here." He patted Maia's arm and walked around her.
Gaia smiled and said "Captain if you don't mind. I think we, have plans to go ride for a while." Gaia looped her arm through her twins and tugged her away from York. Maia would have stayed and talked all night if given the opportunity.
Sam watched them go and then moved on to talk to another group.
Leo walked into the holodeck, looking around. The grassy fields, the horses, the people. It seemed like something that anyone would enjoy. Steering clear of the people, he made a beeline beyond the horses and continued to walk until he found an oak tree. Sitting beneath the shade, he leaned back against the bark and closed his eyes. The scents filled his nose as he breathed deeply.
As he walked Korok tried to figure out how to word or how to say or ask something. He walked up behind Andrews his voice soft, and quiet even as he growled softly into her ear. His hand touched her shoulder "Lieutenant, may I have the pleasure of your company while we walk and perhaps talk a bit?"
Andrews felt a shiver up her spine as Korok had touched her shoulder and whispered to her. She turned to face him, a big smile on her face. "Why of course, lead on." She replied
Korok returned her smile, "Ladies, if you'll excuse us." Korok said to Lizzie and the other woman. He took Roberta's hand and squeezed it lightly as he started to walk away. He didn't know exactly where he was going but being around people was not what he wanted. He needed a quiet place to trip over his words. He glanced at her as they walked. "Roberta, I'm really sorry that I lost track of time and did not arrive at your door to escort you."
Andrews just smiled. "Lukk, you're here right now. That's what matters to me." Then she replied in a whisper,"But don't do it again, Mister. Ok?" She then grinned at him to let him know she was kidding, then looked around to make sure no one was watching(she hoped)and gave him a quick peck on his left cheek.
