Mission: What Dreams May Come?
Location: Bazinga's, Deck 20

[CONTINUED]

[OLD]

"I'll keep that in mind" Cam said, picking up each shot and tipping them into the beer. As soon as he was finished, he pulled out a faded picture and put it on the counter "here's to you boys" he said, before chugging down the drink.

[NEW]

Maria Delgado needed something to help her sleep through another chupacabra attack. A notice in the daily messages about a new restaurant and casino looked interesting, so she dressed in a yellow dress and headed down to deck 20 to see what the new place looked like.

She walked into the restaurant and grinned. It definitely had potential.

Mojo returned "Evenin' Miss, are you here for a meal, a drink or the gambling festivities."

"How about a drink and a look at your festivities. They sound interesting," Maria said.

"This way then, Miss." Mojo took her to the back. The waterfall separated as they entered.

As Mojo brought the woman to the bar he nodded at the dark haired woman behind it and turned to leave. "What will you be drinking this fine eve?" The dark haired woman asked as she placed another drink on a plate and the waiter carried it off.

"Sangria," she said. "This is quite an impressive place."

"The owner tries to please." The woman readied the drink and placed it down on the bar in front of the woman. "So what do you do here on the ship?" She leaned on the bar with her two hands.

"Science officer. I do a bit of this and a bit of that," Maria said.

"Importation position. Keeps you hoping I bet." The bartender replied

"It does indeed."

[York's Table]

"Captain, how long has he been away?" Gaia asked softly, the woman looked as if she missed him a great deal.

"Three weeks. I know it's not long, but before that he was gone for eight months. He'd only been back for seven months before he was sent out again." Her smile was a touch sad. "We both knew what to expect. I'm Captain of a starship and he's a Marine Colonel."

"I bet she's not the only Captain on the ol' Colonel's belt." a hoarse voice said snickering.

Gaia shook her dark head slightly not sure what was happening the voice certainly, hadn't come form the Captain "I beg your pardon?"

"I bet combat drills weren't the only thing he was running through in the Academy." the voice said with a tormenting laugh.

Gaia shook her head again and looked at the Captain a strange confused look on her face. Was the woman partially Betazoid or some other physic race. "Excuse me." Gaia said as she stood up.

Sam looked around for the source of the voice. She had absolute faith in her husband, but whoever was making the comments would be in the brig and off her ship before he knew what hit him.

Gaia flushed at said implications of the voice. "Does this occur often?" she asked the Captain

"Does what occur often?" she asked.

"Hearing things that shouldn't be spoken" Gaia colored and then turned a pasty color.

"No. This is the first time. I wasn't sure what I was hearing as I'm a telepath. You heard it, too?"

Gaia nodded "Yes," sat down as her legs and hands started to shake her large light doe colored eyes looked completely at a loss as to what to do.

Sam moved to sit next to her. "I don't know what's going on. Nor do I know if this is part of whatever is causing the nightmares. However, I can assure you, if this is a joke, someone will spend the night in the brig."

"I don't think it was very funny and its implications." Gaia colored again said and wished Torin had chosen to come with her versus staying behind to hand the other restaurant over to someone else.

"No, it wasn't." Sam was glad Damon wasn't there to hear it. "So, I suggest we ignore it. If someone is looking for a reaction, we won't give it to him."

Sam smiled at Gaia. "So, tell me, where did you come from?" Sam asked.

Gaia looked at the Captain "I assume you mean besides from Paradise?"

"Yes, besides from Paradise," Sam said.

"Torin always advices me to not say any thing. But I am not as concerned about my race and where I come from as much as he is." Gaia replied and then lowered her voice "I am an El'Aurian."

"Ah. That explains a lot. I see why you don't go around announcing that fact. Actually, I was more interested in where you grew up."

"Here and there. My sister and I grew up in a Bazinga's at various locations, from Star Bases, to Colonies, to Ships and I spent some time on Terra, learning some of my trade as a chef." Gaia replied with a flash of smile. "As you may or may not know each Bazinga's is unique to themselves, no two are alike."

"Actually, I didn't know. If it doesn't involve archaeology or the Calypso, there's a good chance I haven't heard." Sam grinned. "But that's the life of a starship Captain. I spend most of my time keeping up with the information Starfleet sends me."

Gaia raised one eyebrow at the woman some thoughts ran through her head but didn't say anything as it would have been quite rude. The Captain did seemed pleasant enough and given enough time Gaia might actually let the woman into her more personal matters. Such as who Torin was and perhaps how she should deal with that situation but until then she would keep her at a distance and asked. "Captain, where did you grow up?"

"Earth. South America, specifically."

"Your family is still there?" Gaia queried

"Not exactly. My immediate family died years ago in a shuttle accident."

"I am so sorry." Gaia closed her eyes for a long moment and waited and then opened them and wondered did anyone ever have a happy life.
