Mission: What Dreams May Come?
Location: Ten Forward (Cousteau's Grotto)

ON

Eamon felt very strange and hungry. Very hungry. He had no idea why only just that he was. After the meeting he went to Ten Forward to get food and hopefully satisfy his hunger.

Walking up to the replicator he ordered a large steak with chips and salad sides, Eamon watched as it materialized. He licked his lips before taking the plate and made his way to a table, sat down then started eating.

The Grotto looked much different then it had the last time the crew had been in there it was almost like being underwater. There seemed to be a feel of pressure in the air. The room had changed decor. A slender dark haired, light doe eyed woman stood talking with Robert the bartender for now he would stay on and work with her to make Bazinga's what it would be come.

One of his functions was to run the bar in Ten Forward now the Grotto, precisely Cousteau's Grotto. The pressure was felt in the room because of the various stone, cave type structure that covered everything. The bar looked like it was a band of coral. The walls varied but in between the rock, there were patches of water, with fish swimming through and around it. Gaia laughed lightly as she turned to see someone enter and grab replicated meal. She shook her head and turned back towards Robert.

"I must say, the place looks great," Robert said as she finished setting up glasses for the night.

Gaia grinned "Thank you, it was and is just a small touch to add to the atmosphere of the place. People will find that they gravitate to a place they like and continue to come back."

Lizzie needed a break from the arboretum. The trees were talking to her again. This time, they wanted to turn the koi fish into sushi. She slipped onto a bar stool and ordered a drink. "Can I have a glass of white wine and a sugar cookie?"

Robert raised an eyebrow at the cookie request but went into the back to get her order. When he returned he set both in front of her. "Here you go."

Gaia turned slightly and looked at the young lady next to her. "You like cookies with your wine?"

"I like cookies with everything. Usually ice cream, but for tonight, I'm willing to try wine."

"Hmmm, not so sure it will be so good together but you can try." Gaia replied "Let me know what you think."

Lizzie dipped an edge of her cookie in her wine and took a bite. She chewed thoughtfully for several moments. "Not bad. I think Kool Aid is better, but not bad."

"Can't taste worse than her breath, don'tcha think?" the familiar hoarse voice said to Gaia once again.

Gaia almost snickered at that. She put her fingertips to the bridge of her nose and pinched it as she wondered if she was going insane. "Do you hear that?" Gaia asked Robert and LIzzie.

"Hear what?" Robert asked.

"I don't hear anything," Lizzie said. She took a sip of her wine and then ate her cookie. On second thoughts, she didn't like it as much as ice cream.

Gaia shook her head had she been working to hard. It had been a stressful move, she had left people she cared for behind on Paradise and currently she missed them. Gaia wondered if it had been a mistake. "Ok, I guess I must be a bit tired."

"Is everything okay?" Robert asked her. "You seem like something's up -- something more than just being tired."

Gaia shook her head and smiled "it is probably nothing more then a touch of stress. But I heard someone say something non - to polite."

Robert shook his head. "I heard nothing. Sit down, I'll get you a drink."

"Make it a double." Gaia said as she slide on the stool next to Lizzie, normally she did not drink while on duty but this had her very shaken. She rubbed her forehead and wished suddenly that Maia her twin, or Torin were there.

Robert brought her a tall glass of a green liquid. "This should do the trick."

Gaia picked up the glass and downed half of it in a few swallows. She shuddered at the taste. "I think that I'll need a strong cup of java after that. That was awful, what was it?" She asked as she finished the other half.

"Not sure. It was in the back with a worn label. Thought this would be a good time to pull it out and see what was in it," Robert said, shrugging.

"If there's any left, throw it away. It's gone bad." Gaia shuddered again "Coffee please double shot of espresso."

"Good to know. I'll give it to the Klingons," Robert said, heading back into the kitchens to get the espresso.

He came back a minute later with her drink. "Here you go, double shot, with a touch of cream."

"Thanks" Gaia took a sip of the coffee and sighed softly after she took a sip and wiped her lip clean.

Gaia turned to Lizzie "So, what do you do here on the ship?"

'I'm in charge of the arboretum and hydroponics. Basically, I"m the plant person."

"Wonderful, how many edible plants do you have here on the ship?" Gaia inquired her full attention on the woman next to her.

"There are a few in hydroponics and I have one workroom off the arboretum devoted to herbs."

"Ok, and what kind of access do I need to get my fingers on some of your fresh herbs?" Gaia grinned a grin of delight as she wondered what they really had and if she would have to find a way to get more fresh versus the replicated stuff.

"Just come down. I frequently have to cull the plants to keep them from overgrowing their pots. You're welcome to any cullings you like. I can also give you some starters to grow your own, if you'd like."

"I would love some, of both. I want to use fresh versus replicated." The dark haired woman replied and took another sip of her coffee.

"Of course. You can't replicate proper herbs. That's why I have the workroom. Come in any time. I'm usually there."

"Thank you I will, very soon." Gaia turned to look around the room.

Lizzie finished her drink and hopped off the barstool. "Well, I'm going to give sleep another shot. It was nice to meet you. Hopefully I won't be back tonight." She grinned at the others, grabbed the rest of the cookies, and headed for bed.
