Mission: A Pirate's Life
Location: Holodeck 2

[CONTINUED]

[On board the Black Pearl]

Malcolm was meandering about the ship not feeling brave enough to venture onto land, he chit chatted with a few of the holographic crew members and that did nothing but make his fear of the land all the more stronger. He decided talking to them was a bad idea and began to just walk around aimlessly until he spotted the commodore, most of the real crew was off ship and he found it surprising she wasn't among them. He approached her to strike a conversation to calm his nerves."Commodore." he said as he walked up beside her.

"Sam, please," she said, smiling at Malcolm. He'd done remarkably well so far. "Why aren't you on shore?"

"This whole situation is not exactly favorable for my well being or my nerves for that matter so I thought it best to remain ship side. I'm surprised your not on shore your self ma'am erm I mean Sam."

"I have no need to go ashore. At least not right now. I'd rather stay here and see what Marek comes up with." Besides, without Damon, it's wasn't as much fun. She preferred to stay here where she could head to sea or shore as needed.

"I'm too paranoid to go anywhere out of my comfort zone right now.The last thing I need is a breakdown on land in front of other pirates, I couldn't handle the ridicule."

"Understood. Why don't you go below deck and get a drink. Then grab a bunk and get some sleep. I don't think you'll miss anything important."

"Good idea, good night Sam." Malcolm said with a smile as he turned and headed below decks

Sam smiled back. "Good night."

Since landing Robert made it a point to keep an eye on the Commodore. Since most left for shore like a bunch of dolt's, he had to make sure she stayed safe if we lost her things would just go from bad to worse

"Hey Commodore can you come up here a sec" Robert screamed from the crow's nest down to Sam

Sam quickly climbed the rigging and dropped into the crows' nest beside Manning. "What is it?" she asked, looking around for anything untoward.

Pointing to the horizon. "Is it not pretty even if we are trapped, it is nice to just take a sec and admire the beauty of what's around us"
I know your busy so I thought it might be good for you to take a break for a sec and remind you even in the bad times there's something good, like this view" he said with a sigh.

Sam grinned. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" She looked at the view for several moments, then turned to Robert. "You're right. Even when we're stuck here, it's always good to take a few moments to relax and enjoy the view."

[Blue Dolphin]

Downing his third pint, Cam turned to the other Marine sitting with him, "so, Sergeant, what do you know about women?" He asked, out of nowhere.

Caught a little off guard, the Sergeant swollowed a mouthful of Ale, "Bit of an odd question sir, got a Sheila your interested in hay?"

Cam shrugged his answer, "got any advice on how to 'real her in' so to speak?"

The Sergeant looked over at the waitress for a moment before returning to Cam, "your not lusting after that Barmaid are you sir? I don't think she's your type"

Cam shook his head, "no, not her. Surely you must have some experience here, a girlfriend or something?"

After a moment, the Sergeant nodded, "alright mate, here's what I know. Those Sheila's like it when your honest and upfront about it. Just tell her how ya feel and see where things go from there"

Nodding, Cam waved the Waitress over

The waitress sashayed over to Cam. "What can I do for you two gents?"

Cam smiled, "One last round, than we've got to head off" he said, pulling out a small leather pouch and holding it up to the waitress, "take out what's due and spread the rest among the staff. Understand?"

Her smile grew broad. She pulled out two coins and then slipped the pouch into her cleavage. "Perfectly. I'll bring your round right away."

"Hey, you can bring us a round, too!" one of the men at another table called.

"Yeah, I'll take what he's drinking!"

"Shut yer gobs!" the waitress shouted back. "If he's daft enough to give me his money, I'll not say no." Her gaze turned hard as she looked around the room. "And if any of yous thinks you can take it from me, remember what happened the last time." With that ominous warning she disappeared into the back.

She was gone a bit longer this time. When she returned, she had two pints of fine ale. She set them in front of Cam and grinned. "Just let me know if you'll be needing anything else tonight." She gave him a bold wink before sashaying off to take another order.

Looking after the waitress, Cam shook his head, "when we get out of here, I need to look up whoever wrote this program" he said picking up his pint, "they knew what they were doing"

[Black Pearl]

Shade had stayed on the ship, helping the crew with repairing the wooden boat. There wasn't extensive damage where he was, but some of the fire he had produced had splashed back. As he worked on the charred wood, he looked at his supplies and sighed. "Captain," he said looking up. "You know this port better than I do... is there a place I can do a resupply?" He was all business, hoping that the nightmare would end soon. "And some fresh water, I'm getting real tired of not swallowing anything."

"Yes..." she replied thoughtfully. "There's a small shop called the Cat Gut. Don't mind the name. It buys and sells whatever sailors need -- or need to get rid of. Show up right after the ships come in. Best to catch them while they're busy. Or, see if Marek can set you up. He's found a way to 'add to the adventure,' so to speak." She didn't want to go into any details with other crew around. The last thing she needed was a group of pirates looking to add to their bounty by threatening Marek. "If you go ashore, wait until dawn. Easier to avoid trouble that way."
