Mission: Shades of Gray
Location: Michnar VII

ON

[OLD]

"You're the one with the Security know-how Kyt. We just like blowing stuff up. My scans didn't get anything on the other half of the building so that parts clear, including the lucious office with twelve person hot tub, gold plated latinum lamp, pen set, blotter, and chair set." Leo smiled and pointed to the barely visible door. "And a bar that would make even a die hard alcoholic weep in pleasure."

Nurse Jaynes stayed closed to Nurse Lowe as they looked around, not sure what to do at the moment as things haven't been set up yet. The place appears creepy to her like being in a scary movie. She was glad that security is nearby to ease her fears of dark places. She has some form of phobia of the dark, but not confined spaces. As soon as more light were turned on, she felt some form of relief.

Daniels patted Jaynes on the back. "You need a ration pack?" Daniels asked, as he walked past. "You aren't lookin' so good."

Yvette gave him a half-smile, "No, thanks. I just don't like being in the dark, sir. Save the ration pack...lost my appetite after you guys found a rodent. Hopefully the team will go beyond this place, whatever this is, and the supplies to be delivered soon."

"Captain, Lieutenant, I'd like to take Trent and Shintaku and secure the perimeter, check the outside of the building," Kara said.

"Take Trent," Leo said looking at Kara. "I have Shintaku up above, being the guardian angel for now. I need to make sure that someone can see if there's a mob coming our way right now." Walking back to his gear, he started picking up his ruck and slipping it on his back. "I'll go with you. Ghassan, keep everyone safe if Shintaku calls out."

Kara nodded and signaled to Trent to follow her.

Trent silently acknowledged with a nod. He took the pack off his back and dropped it next to the rest of the medical supplies. He pulled the loosly slung carbine tight in his grip and followed after the Sergeant

Noelle nodded as she grabbed her ruck "Let's go Captain." She said "Is there a back entrance to this place?" She asked as she looked around the warehouse. She had a gut feeling about this situation and looked at Leo "I think all teams need to report in every 20 minutes unless something comes up." She said "Communication is going to be key in this mission."

Kyt found the control console for the security system not far from the breaker box. As she expected, the panel was dark. She drew her phaser, and cut all the wires she could see off the device, then pulled a screwdriver out of her shoulder-kit, and began puttering around the console's insides. Two phaser shots later, and she nodded. No energy. No emissions. Nothing to worry about.

"Security system clear." Kyt said, after doing a few more tricorder scans.

Kara and Trent headed for the main door. With Chi on the roof they were pretty sure the area would be safe, but they needed to do a personal recon.

"Any idea what to expect?" Trent asked casually as they neared the door. He had seen wasted cities before, some were more 'militant' than others.

"Not a clue, but I'm looking forward to finding out," Kara said.

"We can hope nothing," Leo said bringing up the rear of the trio, looking around. "Because the last thing we need is a pitched fire fight in the middle of a demilitarized zone."

Kara nodded as she slipped outside.

"A pitched battle would be bad." She said "Hopefully we can keep things in order without too much trouble." She said keeping step with Leo.

== Inside the Warehouse ==

One of the Corpsman was still working, erecting the clean room they would be able to use for surgery, and sighed as he lifted the final wall. Two more were carrying the ceiling, but it was going to take all of them to put it on. Locking the retaining wall, the Corpsman walked over and started helping with the ceiling. An hour later it was set, locked, and doing a sanitation run. Noticing the Doctor, she moved over and smiled. "Doctor Bowen?" the young Corpsman said in a sweet voice.

"If you would like to look at the battlefield surgery suite, it's finishing up the sanitation run."

"Yes...great. I want to take a look at it," Leanne said as she followed the Corpsman to the area that has been set up. "Only 4 tables? I think that will do. This looks good, thanks for setting it up. Can you do triage when we have patients...if there is more than my nurses to handle?"

"I'm also a Surgeon," the Corpsman said with a smile. "Got my Ph.D at Darnel, and I've been doing battlefield surgeries since I joined the Corps. The ones that I brought with me will be more than capable of triage, so your nurses will be free."

"Whatever can be done...will be done." Doctor Bowen laid her duffel bag on one table and started unpacking it. "Thanks again."

Doctor Valdez came up behind the Corpsman, patted her shoulder and put a hand out. "A Surgeon, huh? I'm Doctor Wesley Valdez, a Surgeon. Maybe you could scrub in and help out when the time comes." He looked around him, feeling satisfied. "Great job here..."

"I'll scrub in if the time comes," the corpsman said with a nod. "But mostly I'm going to be helping the wounded. If someone is that bad, Bio bed four is mine exclusevly for surgeries, it has a couple of cool toys that I installed."

== Outside ==

The outside looked like a war-ravaged demilitarized zone. Buildings were covered by what appeared to be boarded-up windows. No one walked the barren streets. Rubble from semi-demolished buildings littered the ground.
