| Personal History | Wesley is the only child born to Elizabeth and Samuel Valdez in Temalic, Arizona on Earth. The town lies on an Indian Reservation. He is one-third Indian by his father's generation back. He never got involved with the tradition and culture of Indians, but was raised to follow his mother's footsteps to becoming a doctor. His parents moved from Arizona to California when he was twelve and he was more involved with his school around kids that were not Indians. He did a lot of outdoor activities like watching birds, swimming, and fishing in the deep woods of California. After he finished high school at 18, he entered Starfleet Academy and finished with being top 88 percent of his class. After 4 years, he entered Medical School at the age of 22 and completed school at the top 4th in his class. Then, he decided the specialty of surgery, so he entered for another year. He earned the rank of Ensign and finished all schooling by the age of 23. First starship assignment: USS Hathor as a medical officer and a surgical technician. He served his first assignment for 5 years with outstanding commendations, with a promotion to Lieutenant J.G. He was recommended to take the Surgeon position when he received a transfer order to leave Hathor to USS McCoy for more hands-on training. Second starship assignment: USS McCoy as a Surgeon. This medical starship strengthen his skills as a full-fledged surgeon. Third starship assignment: USS Calypso as a Surgeon (and backup medical officer). Calypso needed a surgeon, so he was picked for the transfer from USS McCoy. He presently serve this ship now. |
