"You know what my stance is, Marine Captain." Jaxara said. "Let's lock and load. But I am sure there are other options."
[NEW]
Leo stood and put down the water he had been sipping. "I see some problems Major. I'm not saying the Captain is wrong, but for the sake of argument lets say it isn't a merc band that currently holds her. What if it's someone dressing their boys down as mercs so we can do their dirty work for them?" Looking around the table he smiled. "Readouts are good and all, but if you over think the smallest thing, you could send me and my men down a rabbit hole that we can't climb out of."
"Phasers to stun, 1st Lieutenant. We can question the lot of them later, at our leisure. Let's just find the Captain while she still breathes, and stop quibbling, eh?" Jaxara said.
Leo looked at Jaxara and shook his head. "I'm not saying we can't take prisoners Lieutenant, I just don't want to take my men into something that I can't get them out of."
Nava spoke up "Perhaps my skills as a Ferengi could be of use." She said "I want to see what we can do to get the Captain and Grand Marshal back without force until they are safe, then the Marines can do whatever they need to after that." She said, "The Mercs don't necessarily know that I am with the Federation." She said quietly thinking about what she had easily on hand that could be of worth to the Mercs.
Chichire was trying to take this all in and analyze it with what she already new then she spoke what she thought even if it got shoot down or made here look stupid or even kicked out the room but she still spoke up.
Quick question when was this transmissions from the captain received by these people one. Two why would all of the sudden the signal get though well enough to a get a full understandable message in .it makes no sense at all so one thing we can try is if there heard the message at different times it would mean they were closer to the true location then the rest and we can pinpoint her location or knock out some of the possibility's it might help some.
Also say we are dealing with pro's here from how the got in and kidnapped the caption in the first place. Then with they are jamming there own transmissions form us so we cannot tell when they are communicating. I'm guessing there very well equipped and well armed and trained I'm going to go out on a limb here and say these guy's are hired by some one with a lot of money and power. So would not put any of these locations of a target list in tell we get sold evidence she not there
Here's why the best way to stay in hiding and move quickly and quietly is all way's right under you nose so to speak it would have been to obvious off them to take a merc base it like screaming here I'm come and get me
I'm sorry be grim here but if on wrong move is made it could get really messy quick
"If these people are truly the ones holding Commander York we can't in any way shape or form alert them that we are onto them. If they suspect that we are about to make a move they would most likely move them to another location. Or worse they might even kill them." Delon stated as he looked around the room. "If I am not mistake this ship does have a Marine Recon Unit. Let them do what they do best. We need accurate information from the ground not just scans from the ship."
"First, Sam sent a telepathic signal. It appears she's behind some sort of shielding that prevents her from contacting anyone. Somehow she managed to get a telepathic message out, but it was cut off and she hasn't been able to do it again," Ronnie said to Chichire. "We can discount the Coalition as the Grand Marshal was captured and they appear to be rallying their troops for a retaliatory strike. We can rule out the Alliance because whoever kidnapped Sam took great pains to make it look like the Alliance did it." She's been reading every report she could on the events surrounding Sam's kidnapping in case she saw anything the others had missed. "The Union brought us her because they want peace. I don't think they did it. Besides, we were attacked by mercenaries. If they'd attack a starship, they'd kidnap her commander. We've got two of the three factions preparing for ward. And, since we haven't heard from the kidnappers we can presume they don't want a ransom. That means we need to act quickly because there is a very real chance that both Sam and the Grand Marshal are in danger."
Ronnie looked at Delon> "I agree that we can't let whoever has Sam know we're coming. But how much time to we have before they take action anyway?"
Leanne Bowen looked at the Major, "I suggest a transmitter implanted under the skin, so we can keep track of whoever plans to go in to rescue her...if something goes wrong, we can locate the transmitter."
"Whoever took Commander York knew full well that we wouldn't sit back and not take any action. They knew that we would start a search as soon as she was taken. They have made their move and now they are content on sitting back and waiting for us to make the next move. They took Commander York and Grand Marshal for a reason. They wanted to blame the Alliance for the kidnapping."
"It would seem that whoever this group is doesn't want the conference to be a success. They want Starfleet out of here, and conflict to continue. And looking at our readings it would seem that Coalition is close to a civil war. Alliance won't sit back and do nothing and everything that has been accomplished here will be gone."
"We are already at a disadvantage here. They have the Commander York. Now what will we do to get her back? I am not comfortable with us sending people into a hostile territory without any intelligence. And if they are waiting for us to make the next move and this place is really where Commander York is being held than I would say that they are ready for any type of attack. It would turn into a massacre."
"And if we do nothing, civil war breaks out and we may never get the commander back," Ronnie replied her irritation apparent. "We can't sit back and wait to see what happens. And what makes you think they don't expect us to find her so quickly? They wouldn't expect Sam to get a message out. So, if we act quickly, we may catch them off guard BEFORE the civil war they apparently want breaks out."
"I didn't say that we shouldn't do something. Commander York needs to be found and rescued. What I am saying is that we need a plan that doesn't involve us simply rushing in and killing everything in the way to find the Commander. We need more intelligence on these bases before we make a move. And I don't think we will catch them off guard. It would seem that they have been planning this for some time now. They were in and out before we even had a chance to react. I would say that they are very prepared for whatever we decide to do."
"I never said rush in and kill everything," Ronnie argued. She glared at Jaxara. "It was Lieutenant Jaxara who wants to shoot everyone and sort them out later. I think we should send in a small group to get in, see if Sam is there and get out."
"We are in agreement there, Lieutenant Lancaster. I would say no more than four people on the team. And if we are to do this we would also need some type of distraction to take their attention away from the base for a moment while the team sneaks in." Delon said, as he looked straight at Ronnie. He found her fighting spirit rather interesting.
"I can do distractions." Jaxara said. "I've got an idea. You don't want to know what it is. And in my defense, I said phasers on stun."
Ronnie looked at Damon. "Major, what do you think?" To Delon she said, "At least we agree on that." Although she still had a strong urge to meet him on the holodeck and knock him on his backside.
