Ronnie looked at Damon. "Major, what do you think?" To Delon she said, "At least we agree on that." Although she still had a strong urge to meet him on the holodeck and knock him on his backside.
[NEW]
Delon took his attention off Ronnie and over to Jaxara. "Why don't you share the idea with the class anyway Lieutenant..."
"It involves several security and marine officers, a lot of phaser fire set to stun, and a phaser cannon, to cause mild geological instability." Jaxara said. "I did say you didn't want to know."
Ronnie rolled her eyes at Jaxara's suggestion.
"You were right. I didn't want to know but it will do. Now we will need a way to get the team in without being noticed..." Delon said as he looked around the room hoping for some kind of suggestions.
"Simple enough. Dress up as mercenaries." Jaxara said. "We've got a few security cam footage clips of how they dress. Should be sufficient."
"Sounds simple but they can't just simply walk up to the gate and expect to be let in..." Delon said.
"That is what the phaser cannon is for." Jaxara clarified.
Delon turned his attention to the Major. "If you do approve this plan, I assume that you would want to lead the team that is heading in..."
Damon allowed the group to continue as they were, soaking in their suggestions and criticisms. By this point, however, he had already made up his mind on their course of action. He shook his head at Delon's query as he held up his hand for a moment to calm down the room.
"I like the idea's that are coming from you all, but here is where we stand." He first looked to Nava "I appreciate you willing to go in undercover for the Captain but the risk is just too high. These are mercenaries and will not hesitate to deal with you immediately if they are somehow tipped off. As it is, there wouldn't be any back up for you and we couldn't beam you out if things went sideways. I won't send another person in alone."
Next his eyes found their way to Jaxara "Dressing up as mercenaries? Might work except we don't really know anything about these groups right now except what they look like. These people fight and kill for a living, we should probably accord them with some respect considering a trick play. We don't have the time to fully get their routine and travel habits down pat so that we can insert ourselves without botching it."
"Delon." He said, turning his head. "You and I both wish there was more time to think of another way in, but everything with everything we know it seems like we are running out of that time. It's time we do something instead of sitting back and watching. Dressing up and pretending to be mercs? No. We will be using a small group of Marines to infiltrate and extract the Captain and the Grand Marshal. I will not be leading that assault as I need you elsewhere and can't leave the ship unattended."
"Leo, you will be leading the assault against the mercenary base. I want a small team to go in and get out as fast as possible. Keep a low profile, you will be deep in Coalition territory and we can't afford to alert the locals. Just in case I'll have both companies prepped and ready should you be challenged."
"Leanne. I want you on standby with the Marine's here. If things get bad I'm going to need you in top form."
"Nava, I know this is going to be a pain especially with everything going on, but I need you to get through the communication mess and see if you can get through to someone in the Coalition who will allow us access into their lands. We will go regardless, but it would sure be nice to not have to look over our shoulders doing it."
Nava nodded "I'll go get started on it." She said standing up to go to her office and start working on the communications logs.
"Delon and Jaxara, you two will go with a small group of marines to investigate that civilian structure to the north. If something there is going on, I need you two to sort it out." He let a few seconds pass "And Delon, if Jaxara steps out of line, shoot him." He gave a bit of a sideways smile but his eyes told everyone in the room that he was serious.
Delon looked at Major and nodded. He might not completely agree with the method that Major had decided to go with but he wasn't going to question it. He stated his opinion and Major had made his decision. "Understood, sir."
Chichire stayed silent not wanting to interrupt the plans to get their captain back, but after they were finished to add on bit of info, she looked at every one before she coughed up with. "If I may I put in a side not if you can get me at least two - four hours from right now to go scout the area and get a sniping point. It will help if things go wrong as well as I can provide cover for the assault team; gather some Intel for the assault team as well. So it will make going in and out smoother for the team and at the very least help with the distraction. There is a reason I ask I'm not as good with close combat, as some as the others and right now it might pay off if things so happen to go for the worst, and we can't transport them to the ship we least have long range support with out risking killing any friendly in the process. Oh, I know you do not want people to go alone, but for me it makes it easier if I do. One less chance of having to be spotted as well, I can move quickly if something happens and I need to find a new spot to provide cover." She paused for a sec to let what she just said sink in then add, "If you like, I will stay in touch with the ship so they can get a better picture of what is really going on. When we start this insane plane. Unless some can tell me why my plan is a bad idea. I am sorry for my last comment, I stepped out of line", with that she just walked to far end of the room and stayed silent waiting of some to comment on her idea .
Leo looked over at the Corporeal and shook his head. "You'll be going with the two Lieutenants. To that civilian structure? I have a bad feeling about that place, and I need my newest Marine blooded." Looking at Damon, Leroy stood and shook his head, taking a sip from the container of water again. "Major, if there's nothing else, I'm going to go get my men ready." With a smile to everyone else, Leo turned on his heel and strode from the room.
Chichire not saying anything was right on his heel's trying to get out of there as quickly as she could becuase the meeting made her fell out of place.
Jaxara took a deep breath. Somehow, he had managed to make it through most of the meeting without being yelled at. A new high score, from his point of view. "Likewise." Jaxara said with a nod.
Damon watched as the invited marines exited the room leaving only the Starfleet officers behind. He looked at each of them and smiled.
"I know it probably isn't easy for you to follow orders coming from a Marine, but I appreciate you all not taking an afront to it. Legitimately the decision to go forward is a military one, but don't think I wasn't listening to your ideas before arriving at our course of action."
He sighed heavily and sat down in his chair which had up until this moment not been used. "Now comes to the messy business. My relationship with the Captain probably isn't much of a well kept secret. Knowing that, I'm willing now to place on the table what I'm sure some of you are thinking; that I'm too close to this. I really do believe that what we are doing is the best chance to get her back. However, as my Marines will follow my orders regardless, you technically don't have to. So, if you have any real concerns about this, I will field them. Comments?"
Jaxara scowled. "The man loves the girl. It happens. That's not the point. Anyone who has concerns, shove it. She's the Captain, and we have to get her back. He's the one who has the most to lose, not getting her back. First person to complain about following Marine Captain Raine's orders gets a phaser shot right between the eyebrows."
Damon put his hands up to his face for a second and shook his head. "I appreciate the vote of...confidence?" He said, unsure of what to call it "But this right now is an open venue for all of you, an opportunity to speak any potential concers without fear of repercussion."
Doctor Leanne Bowen empty her drink and yawned lightly. She was ready to leave the conference to get back to sickbay and get the supplies ready for the Marines.
Delon looked around the room starting at one end of the table to the other. No one seemed like that they had anything to say. He had said his piece earlier and had nothing else to add. At this point it didn't matter anyway, the decision had been made.
Ronnie nodded. She thought the plan was sound, even though her role would be to stay on the ship.
"Alright then." Damon concluded "I want plans drawn up and ready to go within the hour. Both teams need to be dirtside in eight hours so we had better be prepared for it. Dismissed."

Outside the conference room
--------------------------------
Leroy was sitting outside the room when Jaxara came walking out. "Lieutenant, a moment if you could?"
Jaxara turned, to look at the man. "Whatever you are going to say, either the Marine Captain has already said it, or you are a great deal more insane than I first thought."
"No, nothing like that Lieutenant. The group of Marines I'll be sending with you will be lead by our new Sniper. There'll be a fire team and a sniper team with you, meaning no more than seven Marines." Leo shook his head. "I need to know what you want out of them."
"As long as they can follow orders, and stun any, and every living being that crosses our path, so they don't raise an alarm, I'm not worried." Jaxara said.
Leroy chuckled. "We're Marines Lieutenant, not Security. We know how to handle our weapons, and how to follow orders. The joke of the dumb grunt is just that, a joke." Looking down the corridor he sighed. "Anything else you need from us?"
"Yeah. I might not necessarily do things Marine Captain Raine's way, just remember, believe it or not, I actually do have an inkling as to what it is I am doing, and don't ask stupid questions. After all, your marines follow your orders. My security officers will understand. There are certain elements to my plan that I'm not willing to share with Marine Captain Raine just yet." Jaxara said. "That's about it. Just be ready, and do your job. We'll find the Captain, and she'll still be alive. She'll probably be pretty pissed about the body-count though."
Leo shrugged. "If we win, the body count means nothing. She can be pissed if its all fleeters and Marines and no mercs." Looking down he chuckled. "Also, Corporeal Chichire will be in charge of the Marine contingent down there. She has my authorization to get the job done how she see's best. If you have any other questions, you can ask her about them." Turning, he noticed the door opening, and the people coming out. "If that's all Lieutenant, my drop ship will be geared and ready to put you where you're needed, before picking me and mine up."
Damon walked out of the conference room last after having looked over the tactical data one more time. He quickly glanced to the side and noted the two officers talking to each other.
"Bad time for a chat gentlemen." He said as he looked down to his watch. "We are dirtside in eight hours and I expect to look over some tactical plans in one. Get to it." He quickly nodded to them and stepped off towards the bridge.
