834 words; about a 4 minute read

Mission: Peace, or Something Like It
Location: USS Calypso - Turbolift & Brig
Timeline: Current

[USS Calypso - Turbolift]

The ride from the VIP quarters to the brig would take a couple of minutes due to the distance between the two this gave Delon a moment or two to gather his thoughts. At first he was angry at what happened. He felt used. But the more he thought about it the more he realized that if he was in her shoes he would have tried to do the same thing as she did.

He was responsible for bringing her aboard the vessel. At the time it was a logical decision. It was the right choice to bring her aboard, and he still thought about it as the right decision. However, where he went wrong was that he didn't assign security officers to guard her door. If he had done that she would have never been able to get as far as she did.

If he didn't allow her to seduce him she wouldn't have been able to get as far as she did. It was mostly his fault for what had happened. He knew that and he would have to face the Commander once she got aboard the vessel. He would have to explain the decision, however at the moment he couldn't worry about that. He wouldn't worry about it. There were other more pressing issues that needed his attention.

[USS Calypso - Deck 26]

The lift came to a stop on deck 26. It was the location of the Chief of Security officer and the brig. He wondered what he would say to her as he started down the long corridor. It was a troublesome matter. He knew that he could keep her in the brig but he didn't want to do that. He needed her to be corporative. She was still the leader of the Alliance.

He also knew that by this point in time they would have discovered that she is missing. He didn't know how they would respond. He also didn't know just how many more people had that device in the back of their neck. He needed to find whoever was behind it and get to the bottom of it all.

Tovan stepped into the brig and looked at the security officer. "Dismissed!" It was all that he said as the officer nodded and left the brig. Delon walked over to the force field that was keeping Lumiya inside. She was laying on the bed that was provided inside the brig still out cold.

He leaned on the wall and watched her as she laid there. He would wait until she woke up on her own. He wondered how this conversation would go.

After about ten minutes he noticed her eyes twitching. They closed tighter than opened briefly. The light in the brig was too bright and she shut them quickly. She brought her hands up to her eyes rubbing them than slowly began to open them attempting to get adjusted to the light. After another minute or two she fully opened her eyes and looked around.

"You are in the brig aboard the Calypso..." Delon stated.

She looked at him not saying anything. She laid her head back down on the pillow and sighed with her eyes closed. "You must be pretty upset with me..." She said without looking at him.

"I'm not..." Delon responded.

"You're not...?" She opened her eyes and looked at him. She then sat up and continued to look at him from the other side of the brig. "I shoot you with your own weapon. I tried to leave this vessel. I betrayed your trust you put in me. If I was you, I would be furious."

"At first I was...but then I started to think and wonder just what exactly I would do if I was in your shoes...and I came to a realization that if I was in the same situation as you I would have probably tried the same thing you did." Delon explained.

Lumiya smiled as she watched him.

"So, I'm not angry with you. I am not upset with you. I simply want you to promise me that if I let you out of here that you will not try the same thing again." Delon stated as she walked over to the other side of the force field where the control panel was located.

Lumiya looked at him. He was willing to release her from the brig just like that. She had probably violated multiple Federations laws by her attempted escaped.

"The way I see it you can behave and I will let you return to your quarters or you can stay here until we find Commander York, the choice is yours."

Lumiya stood up from the bed and wondered over to the force field. She examined his face. He was serious about it. She nodded gently. "I will behave..."

"Excellent..." Delon said. He turned off the force field.
