~~Merc Ship~~

Tala stood at the tactical station on the Hideki ship and was heading for the Federation vessel "Weapons are ready." She said to the Captain who was sitting on the Bridge apparently fuming at the intrusion of Star Fleet "Awaiting your orders."

The Merc captain watched for a moment "Target their port side weapons array and fire." He said leaning forward to watch the effect of the weapons fire. "Fire!" Tala had realigned the targeting system and fired on the port weapons array.

[Security]

Upon hearing the red alert sound, Rianna was deep in thought with her drink in the lounge. Instantly snapping alert, she stood up and walked briskly out the door, heading for the bridge, not sure what she was supposed to do since her duty assignments didn't start until the next day. Walking quickly down the corridor, she heard Lieutenant Jaxara order all of the ship's security personnel to proceed to the armory in preparation for a boarding possibility. Rounding the corner, Silea stopped at the weapons locker, punched in her security code, and grabbed a hand phaser, tricorder, and holsters for both. Once they were secure on her person, she proceeded to the turbolift. Stepping in, she ordered, "Armory."

Arriving at the armory, Rianna walked into a hive of activity. Weapons were being handed out quickly and people were being divided up into teams. She grabbed a phaser rifle from the crewman handing them out, and stepped back to await instructions.

Ensign Daniels was present, coordinating equipment handouts. "Ah. Yes." he said, nodding to the woman. "Phaser rifle, back-up power packs, emergency rations, first aid kit, Secondary, and tertiary phaser, emergency com badge, and air-supply." He said, handing her a small back-pack like bag. "You'll travel with group 9-C. That's primary Engineering patrol." He said with a nod. "Lieutenant Lire is leading task-group 9. You'll be leading 9-C. Any questions, direct them to her. Lieutenant Jaxara is more tactical, and less Security oriented, so the weapons console is where he belongs."

Leroy walked up to the Ensign and smiled. "Give me the rifle, a combat knife and two reload packs." Looking beyond the young man his eyes lit up and he started to reach for something on the wall to the left of Ensign Daniels. "An ancient Ballistics knife. I'm calling dibs on this one..."

Daniels shook his head. "After the recent incidents of unauthorized slug throwers, Chief has only authorized standard equipment."

"Someone was using slug throwers and no one told me?" Leroy looked down trodden, not angry as he released the knife. "How come I'm the last one to know about these things? So the knife, the rifle and the two reload packs." Flexing his left hand, he felt the sheath reload for a knife, then flexed his right hand; same thing. "Make that two knives Ensign."

Daniels cleared his throat. "Like I said. Authorized standard equipment. Phaser rifle, back-up power packs, emergency rations, first aid kit, Secondary, and tertiary phaser, emergency com badge, and air-supply." Daniels said, handing Leroy the equipment bag. "You want to take knives, clear it with Jaxara. After recent events, however, the use of non-authorized weapons are certainly not going to be cleared from him. This is the Security Armory. We don't carry knives."

Leo grumbled and took the rifle then thought about it for a second. "God I got lost didn't I Ensign? Sorry about that, we'll get it all straightened out." Laying the weapon down he turned and started to laugh as he ran to his own armory. "This is what I get..." he mumbled.

[Bridge]

The ship shook, as one of the Merc ships opened fire.

Jaxara scowled. "Are they INSANE?" He yelled. "This is a Galaxy class Starship. Permission to rip them open like a sardine can, sir?"

"I would suggest against that! I repeat, plasma weapons!"

"We've got Shields." Jaxara said, shaking his head. "I'm more worried about the Plasma weapons being fired, rather than pre-igniting them, using our phasers."

----"Red Claw" mercenary ship----

The Caitian paced on the bridge of his ship, claws extending and retracting with every step; a habit he had developed whenever he was about to go into battle.

"Closing in on maximum distance, sir." His helmsman reported.

"Excellent. Have they detected us yet?"

"No, Sir. Cloaking field operating at peak efficiency. They haven't taken their eyes off the Hedeki yet."

The Captain nodded. This would be the fifth time the two mercenary Captains had worked together doing this exact same tactic; to date it had always worked flawlessly.

"Ready the pods." He said with a wicked grin spreading across his face.

The Caitian walked over to his chair and pressed a button that patched him through to his second in command.

"R'rel. Ready your troop." He said to his younger brother.

"Already geared up and itching for a fight." Came the quick response. "Set to kill?" He asked eagerly.

"No. Heavy stun should be sufficient. We aren't murderers...unless we are paid to be."

R'rel nodded and closed down the comm channel from his brother. He turned and faced the dozens of hardened mercenaries before him.

"Alright, you heard the Captain, no killing the fleeties."

The comment was met with more than a few sighs of regret.

"I know, I want a piece of them too. But for this round we will just have to settle for stealing their ship."

Loud, boisterous laughter echoed throughout the cramp cargo bay. R'rel himself couldn't help but add to the laughter due to the audacity of their plan.

Once the laughter died down R'rel outlined the plan of attack. "Divide and conquer, gentlemen, just like the last time. Goh," the Caitian looked over to a rather weathered looking Klingon "you will be leading the assault on the main bridge. Make sure to attack it with all your men at once." The Klingon grunted his acknowledgment.

"My team will be hitting their engineering. Once we have it we will begin to secure the remainder of that deck."

He looked over all of the hardened men and women. "No one attacks until I give it the go ahead. Understood?"

Nods could be seen from every one of them. They were all seasoned fighters and very used to following orders. He knew they would follow his instructions without question.
"Good." He nodded. "Who are we?"

"RED CLAW!" Came the thunderous response.

R'rel gave a toothy grin. "Excellent. Get to you pods."
