Mission: What Lies Beneath?
Location: Starbase Typhon
Timeline: Curren

Samantha York sat in the Captain's chair on the bridge as the ship approached the starbase.

"Hail the Starbase," she said. "Get docking instructions. With our little friends, I doubt they'll want us docking at the station itself."

"This is Typhon control, please identify."

"This is the USS Orion, returning from Tiberius IV. Requesting a berth to dock at Starbase Typhon."

"Tactical scans show no hostile craft in the area, though there is a Romulan Diplomatic vessel present." Lorne noted softly. "All clear."

"Romulan? Interesting. I'll have to make a point to visit the ambassador." Sam was interested in Romulan history -- as she was all history. Perhaps the ambassador could help her find a book Sam had been searching for. "Thank you, Lieutenant."

Lorne nodded. "Most welcome, Captain." Lorne said, as he nodded. "If I'm reading this right, the base is not at any alert status, though there appears to be a high diplomatic presence. I've confirmed a Trill, Andorian, Bolian, Vulcan, Klingon, and what appears to be... yes, I think that looks right, even an Earth Embassy ship in dock. There are a few other Starfleet ships present, as well."

"Ensign Nava may want to pay them a visit while we're here," Sam replied. "Sounds like a great opportunity."

Erin, seated in the councellers chair, raised her eyebrows in interest.
''I've never seen Klingon ships before." She admitted eagerly. ''This should be interesting.''

Nava walked onto the Bridge and was slightly surprised to hear that there was a Romulan ship nearby. But she said nothing as she listened to the ships that were docked with the Starbase. Perhaps she would have a chance to meet with some of her diplomatic contacts while here.

Ensign Gonzales at the engineering station sat back in his chair. "At least I don't have to do repairs on this puppy. I don't want to think of how long it's going to take..." He shuddered. "I feel bad for those guys."

Sam looked around the bridge, a little sad. "Yes. But I'm going to miss the girl."

The docking instructions were received by the computer, direction them to dock on the outer ring. "Kaj, take us in."

Kaj tapped a round of inputs to his comm, and after a few more plus a well-placed fist to the panel and a boot to the riser the Orion moved forward due to its maneuvering thrusters.
"Aye aye skipper. Just be warned it might be a rough ride in, damn oversized rats got into the flight control systems so there may be a few bumps..."

Kaj grabbed the sides of his control panel as the aft maneuvering thrusters suddenly spiked in output for a moment then re-settled, making the big Galaxy class ship lurch

"...like that. Don't worry though, worked with engineering and we have most of the big hiccups at least leashed."

Gonzales made a face. "Hopefully we won't have any pests around this time."

"That was definitely a hiccup, Lieutenant," Sam told Kaj. She did, however, sigh in relief when the ship eased into its berth and stopped.

"All hands, we have arrived at Typhon. Because of our stowaways, all transportation will be by transporter. Shuttlebays will be cleansed before the shuttles are allowed to transfer to the Calypso. Check with your department heads for leave rotations."
