Mission: What Lies Beneath?
Location: Tiberius IV and USS Orion
Timeline: Current

[OLD]

"The targeting scanners are almost shot. It'll be by manual. That last precise targeting maneuver blew half the power sources to the scanners, but I'm just glad the tractor relays didn't conk out." Lorne said. "Ready when you are."

[NEW]

"The firefly was just to see if we could recover the ships. The other two are more important. We need to get the shuttle. I'm not sure if we can get the cargo ship at this point."

She looked at Jaxara. "Do what you can. We have McGraw and Mikkola in the shuttles to help," Sam said.

She turned to the comm station. "Contact McGraw and Mikkola. Tell them to be ready to help."

"I didn't say I couldn't do it, Ma'am, just that it'd have to be manual." Lorne noted. "But I'll be happy to have the assistance."

"I have no doubt you can pull up the shuttle. I'm not sure the relays can handle the cargo ship after that," Sam said. "It's going to take a combined effort to get both ships onto the Orion."

"Fair enough." Lorne said with a nod. "We're ready for the shuttle."

"On your mark, Lieutenant," Sam said with a nod.

Lorne nodded again. "Focusing tractor beams. Refining manual targeting. Alright, we've got it locked." Lorne said, with a nod. "Stabilizing the flight."

A beep went off. "Power fluctuations in the targeting scanners. I'm practically blind now. Computer, switch to exterior camera view on my terminal." He said with a frown. "There! Gotcha."

Carefully, slowing down the rate of ascent, working on exterior visual cameras only, he brought the shuttle in. This took approximately 19 times longer than the previous ship had taken. "She's in, Ma'am."

Sam nodded. "Thank you, Lieutenant. York to Engineering, proceed with caution, but see how the firefly looks."

=A= Gonzales here, we're on our way. =A=

She tapped her combadge again. "York to Sinclair and Bowen, work with the Marines and check out the shuttle. I don't know what you'll find when you open her up."

She looked at Damon, "I want your people there, just in case."

He looked at his watch "The second platoon will be there by now." He said, knowing full well that they wouldn't disappoint his trust in them. "They will be exercising containment protocols, so weapons are set to stun and they will be sure not to let anything get by them."

Lorne's console sparked. It set his arm on fire, which he quickly put out, by suffocating it against the deck floor.

"That's it for tractor controls from this station, Captain. We can coordinate with the battle bridge, if it's needed." Lorne noted. "Jaxara to Lire, man the battle bridge's tactical system immediately."

"Let's see what the shuttles can do," Sam told him. "York to McGraw and Mikkola. See if you can move the cargo ship. Sending scanner information to you now." She nodded to Ronnie, who transferred the information.

Randy punched up his commbadge and paged one of his pilots as he waited for the lift to deposit him in Shuttlebay 1.

Satisfied with his wing-mans timely response, Randy walked out of the lift as the doors opened and proceeded into the Shuttlebay, and made a beeline for the runabout, itching to get out into space.

Keller, meanwhile, was rushing to put on a new uniform, as he had just gotten back from a jungle adventure in the Holodecks. He started swearing under his breath, realizing that he was going to be late, as usual. 'Not a great way to make an impression on the new Wing,' he thought to himself. 'He's only been on board for a few hours, and he has already flown one mission, and now, with a bigger mission on the line, I am late getting down there, when I should have already had the ship prepped and ready to launch.'

He continued to berate himself as he approached the runabout, and he quickly hopped inside to assist in the pre-flight checks, only to find them done. "I am sorry I was running behind, Sir. Won't happen again."

Randy smiled simply, and just went ahead with the proper launch procedures. "Orion this is the Congo, we are prepped and ready for launch. Awaiting your signal."

''...Considering the damage to the systems we've taken I would advise against that. We can't put a strain like that on the Eps Sub System.'' Walter was down in the main engine room helping the staff. ''Try sending power through the ODN relays? And where is the acting chief?'' Walter had made himself felt in the main engine room, there was no one to take command and the ship was falling apart around him anyway.

'I would not be surprised if he has had a breakdown' Walter thought to himself before getting back to work. He opened a service hatch and made his way into a crawl space. Flicking his tricorder out of his pocket, he opened another hatch and began to get a reading of the power flow through the junction. =/=''Walter to main engineering, power flow normal in section 8, moving to section 9''=/=

A female voice answered. =A= Williams here. Good job Walters. Williams to Bridge. There's no way we'll be able to get that cargo ship out of there. The crew's probably long dead, poor wretches. =A=

"There's another storm on the planet," Ronnie announced. "Bigger than the last one. Scanners are down, too. Even the ones you set up."
