Mission:
Food for the Gods
Location: various
Timeline: Two months after launch
ON
The trip had been uneventful, which gave everyone on the ship a chance to get back into a routine. Sam appreciated having some time to spend with Damon as he'd been away for a while with his own assignment.
She even had time to catch up on her science journals. But now she was getting a little anxious to do more than fly through space.
She was currently sitting in her ready room, looking at a holoimage of the system they were currently traversing.
The doors to the turbolift opened up allowing Damion Wolfe to step out. He stopped in front of the doors and took a moment to look around the bridge. He'd hadn't been on the bridge for quite some time and somehow it felt different. Or maybe it was just him. He was different. He took a deep breath before walking down to the door of the Captain's ready room. Damion gave a quick nod to Kela, who was standing at the tactical console, before tapping the chime at the door.
Sam looked toward the door. "Come in."
Damion walked in, a bit of a smile on his face, as he looked over to the Captain. "Officially reporting back in for duty, Captain."
Sam smiled. "Good. I hope you enjoyed your parental leave."
"Somehow." Damion said softly as he sat down in the chair across from her. "The missions I went on while on the Nightstar provided me with less stress." He laughed softly and ended it with a bit of a smile. "All jokes aside I enjoyed the time with my daughter, and with Ronnie. Even with all the chaos going on I thank you for letting me continue with that. I hope the girls haven't given you much problems in my absence."
"They aren't you, but we got along well enough," she assured him. She'd had an opportunity or two to chat with Ronnie and was pleased to see that she was so happy with Damion.
"Really?" Damion replied with a slightly surprised look before smiling. "I should consider putting them in for a promotion." He chuckled slightly before adding. "Regardless, I am ready to get back into the swing of things."
"Excellent." Sam smiled. "Then consider yourself back on duty."
Damion smiled a bit before nodding his head. "Thank you, Captain. I'll get back up to speed in no time." He paused for a moment before adding. "Now that that is out of the way, I've been asked to make sure you seen some of the new pictures of the baby. Ronnie insisted."
Sam grinned. "I saw some two weeks ago. I'm not sure if you'd consider those new."
"Latest ones are a few days." Damion replied quickly before smirking. "Ronnie is getting a bit out of hand with the pictures but, to be honest, I don't mind as much."
"Of course not, it's your child. Tell Ronnie I'll stop by later."

Munich sat in his chair as XO of the ship while the Captain was in the ready Room; departure always made him feel like he is serving a purpose; not that leave times is not enjoyed , but the Stars are what called to him the most. He had a PADD in his hand going over some of the reports here rather than in his office.
Glancing at the stars on the View Screen distorted by the Warp Speed he pondered the little things in running the ship that add up to be a big job. Secretly he was glad York had command; Munich was content to support her in all she does. He respected her style of Command; the trust she put in her crew and mostly the fact she allowed him to have the rank of Commander now. He worked hard as he should but recognition and promotions also bode well in a career.
The ship was moving on course and all seemed to be like clockwork.
Shan rested her hands lightly on the console before her, eyes scanning the read outs on power usage and standard scans the ship performed while zipping along at warp speed. A flash of light on the side of the panel caught her attention immediately and she reached over to pull that information up on her screen. "Sir," she said with a glance over her shoulder. "We're receiving a repair request signal from a tech facility. Automatic signal, no details at this time and no specific message, just the repair notice from the main computer broadcast on the Starfleet general frequency."
Yui was staring at the viewscreen as if totally zoned out. She was simply watching the stars zoom by as she kept the Calypso steady. Being at the helm was a wonderous feeling for her, she was always a 'fly girl' and that is where she belongs. When Shan started speaking, Yui at first didn't hear. Eventually she came out of her zone.
"Wait, what? Automated repair signal?" Yui asked as she began to tap on the helm. "Maybe I can see if I can track it?"
"The last survey of this area indicates no planets with warp-capable civilizations," Ronnie told Munich.
"I suppose it could be said we are going in blind then." Munich proposed. Get a fix on the directional beam of the transmission and we will use that as our course and hope we come across someplace?" He nod to Shan. "Lt. Shan, verify course then give us an estimate from signal strength?"
"Fascinating," T'Pral quietly uttered at the rear Engineering station. She had been monitoring the warp core's EPS power output and their warp coil efficiency during cruise. She had to hand it to Lieutenant Dixon - the ship was running well, and at an efficiency increase of 0.5%. This new mystery, however, was certainly pulling her attention.
