Walking along the corridors of the Calypso, Lilliana was looking for a certain room number. She'd acquired the room number from the ship manifest and was now hoping to find it and talk to its owner. Her older half brother Cameron Bourne.
Finding the room, Lilliana stopped outside the door, closed her eyes and started feeling out the room beyond using her telepathic abilities. Within the room, she could feel the presence of two individuals. One of them was a female with telepathic abilities of her own. She was shorter than her in stature, in fact she was smaller than her in practically every way, but Lilliana could tell that she had an inner strength, a determination to achieve what she wanted.
The other was a tall man. He didn't have any telepathic abilities of his own, though she could feel a connection between them. It was almost physical in its strength. The man himself was quite strong in his own right, and quite physically imposing. His age didn't seem to have slowed him down at all. His thoughts were well organised and practical.
Lilliana could tell just by his presence that this man was the person she was looking for.
Keeping her telepathic presence small, Lilliana opened her eyes, took a deep breath and tapped the door chime. "Well, here we go"
It didn't matter that Liliana was trying to keep her presence small. The fact that she had reached out telepathically was enough for Kara. "Cam," she said, turning to him. "There's someone outside reading us telepathically."
When the door chimed she relaxed on a little. "Well, at least she's going to let us know she's there."
Standing up from the lounge, Cam walked over to the door, "let's find out who it is than" he said, opening up the door, "yes? Can I help you Lieutenant?" He asked, noticing both the rank and the Marine green on her uniform.
Opening her mouth to say something, Lilliana found that she could speek. She couldn't believe it. This man standing before her could have been her father. The resemblance was uncanny. Stuttering for a moment, she eventually found her tongue, "um, are you Captain Cameron Bourne?"
Cam nodded, "I am"
"Is your father's name Andrew? Andrew Bourne?" Lilliana asked, starting to get her hopes up.
Looking at this woman curiously, Cam again nodded, "yes my fathers name is Andrew. Why do you ask?"
"Oh, well the thing is......." Lilliana started, not quite sure how to say it, "......you may not believe it, but" She said, looking up into his face, "I'm your half-sister"
Hearing this, Cam's eyes widened in surprise, "um, could you repeat that?"
Licking her lips nervously, unsure how he was going to react, Lilliana spoke again, "I'm your sister. Well half sister actually"
Kara was standing a few feet away, watching. Cam hadn't said much about his family, but a half-sister? Walking up to Cam she addressed the newcomer. "Would you like to come in?" she asked.
"Thank you for the offer, but I would rather leave that up to my brother. I don't want to impose" Lily answered, turning to Kara
"Um, no not at all. Come on in" Cam said, still a little flustered.
Walking back over to the lounge, Cam held out his hand, "have a seat. We can talk and get to know each other, and maybe you could clarify things a bit for me"
Walking over to one of the single seats, Lily sat down and nervously looked at Cam. Physically he was quite imposing, but she could tell that he'd been through a great deal.
"Do you want me to leave the two of you alone?" Kara asked Cam quietly. She didn't mind as he was clearly surprised by this news and might prefer to talk to his half-sister alone.
"No, stay, please" Lilliana asked, "I want to get to know my brother and who better to ask than the woman who managed to find a way into his heart?" She asked rhetorically, looking back over to Cam.
Cam half smiled, "no, I would like you to stay Kara. I need you to make sure everything she says is true"
Kara nodded and curled up next to Cam.
Taking a deep breath, Lilliana chose to get things started, "so, where to begin...." She said, thinking it through.
"How about you start with how you can be my half sister. No offence but I'm pritty sure none of my family were blue" Cam said, choosing to start off with the most obvious difference.
Lilliana smile, "alright than, straight to it than. Well I'm your half sister because I am Half human and half Aenar. Our mutual parant is our father. I know almost nothing about the why's or how's, but what I do know is that it happened at a Party of some sort and that the man in question bares a striking resemblance to you" she said, pulling out a picture of the man and showing it to the two of them.
The man in the picture could have been Cam, the only noticable differences were a little more facial hair and the man in the picture wasn't as heavily built as Cam was.
Looking at the picture, Cam was lost for words. That was his father, and judging by the rank on his collar, it was around the time that Cam was just starting out primary school.
Kara looked from Cam to Lilliana. "How did you learn that you and Cam shared a father?"
"I am willing to undergo any genetic examination that you want to conduct. And if it turns out that I am wrong, than I will leave without another word" Lilliana said, even though she believed that she wasn't wrong about this as she believed what her mother had told her.
"First, I'd like to know about the man you both call father," Kara said. "Was he gone for long periods of time? Did he leave Cam and his mother and then get together with Lilliana's mother? Did you grow up in the same city?"
Cam shook his head, "no my father never left us. I don't know how this could have happened"
