Mission: Deadly Diplomacy
Location: Various

ON

Sam walked onto the bridge from her ready room just as the lights went out. "What the... Get emergency power on now," she ordered. It was never good when the power went out. Especially when they had several prisoners on board.

She tapped her combadge. "Bridge to Engineering. What happened?"

Yui spun around in her chair from the helm, her hands in the air.
"I swear it really wasn't me. I didn't touch anything!"

"Not this time," Sam assured her. But it made her wonder what sort of pilot she had at her helm.

[Engineering]

Chris growled in anger as he finally forced the doors to his office open when his comm. badge beeped. He frowned at that, because if the communicators were still working...

"Hartley here. I'm working on answering that question right now. I'm confused because if all power is out, then communications should be out as well." Chris replied.

"Combadges are not dependent on the ship to operate," Sam replied. "Ships communications are down."

"I'll see what's going on, and see if I can get power back. I'll keep you updated." Chris said, forcing his office doors open, and entering main engineering.

"Damage Control teams to stations." Munich said into his communicatort. "This is not a drill, I say again this is not a drill."

[marine deck]

In his office, Cam forced the doors to the parade ground open, "all hands snap to!!! Prepare for combat. Alpha and bravo units, secure this deck and set up lamps every ten metres. Charlie and Delta units, set up an emergency centre here in the parade grounds and prepare from casualties. Also, make sure we have enough provisions on hand to feed everyone"

Kara grabbed the small hand weapon she kept locked in her desk and headed for the parade ground. Fortunately, there were only three doors she had to force open to get there, so she was one of the first to arrive.

Bosley was in the PT room, lifting weights. When the lights went out he made his way back to the locker to wipe down and dress. At the Captain's orders, he began to rally the other Marines to get out to the Parade rounds.

[main science lab]

Main power offline. Illise looked up sharply from the PADD on her desk at the sound of the computer's announcement. The lights in the lab outside and in her office took on a bluish hue. Independent power holding at 100%. the computer reported.

Getting up from her desk, Illise quickly went into the lab. The concerned looks from her staff spoke volumes about their stress level. The ship had been through a lot lately. She made a mental note to start rotating them out for some extended down-time. "All staff report in." She said over her comms to the other labs.

-Outside-

Leroy, and the ship he was heading in all slammed on the breaks. "You''ve got to be kidding me." He said before snapping on a comm. "Hey Cap'n, evidently it's going to be a few minutes before we can get back on board, hope you didnt have a pressing engagement "

"I'll change my plans," Sam said with a slight grin. "Keep an eye on that ship. Shoot it if you must."

-Engineering-

Chris frowned as he looked at the still dead console. "Okay, so we've routed power to the consoles five times, and yet nothing's happening. I want every console tested, find me one that bloody works." Chris said, growling in anger.

"Or we could set up a new connection to the main computer. If the consoles are all out, then it could be a problem with the computer itself." Elley suggested.

"Alright, let's get moving with that." Chris said. "Hartley to York. We're having trouble getting anything on down here, so we're going to try and force a new connection to the computer, but if there is an issue, I'm not sure it's natural. Gravity and life support is still on, and other systems, so I think we've got a saboteur aboard."

[Sick Bay]

Arnon finally reached Sick Bay after prying his way out of his office. Chief Counselor's Aide Marcus Ileos was on his heels. Prior to taking a transfer to administrating for the Counseling Department, Marcus had served as a Corpsman and later a Physician's Mate. Like his boss, he had medical training and helped out in Sick Bay when the need arose.

Arnon looked around for the CMO. Not initially seeing him, Arnon helped a Nurse, a Lieutenant JG, to here feet.

"Report," he said in a clear tone of command. "Where's Doctor Newmark?"

Arnon brought the nurse to a bio bed and looked her over with a tricorder. He found no major injuries.

"Uhmm..." the nurse replied, a little unsteady. "He's here somewhere, sir."

"I need you to prepare for incoming casualties," Arnon said. "Can you do that?"

The nurse looked at him a little confused for a moment, then pulled herself together.

"Prepare for casualties," she said. "Aye, aye, sir. I'll get us ready and start setting up triage."

Arnon nodded, and went off towards the CMO's office. He appeared to be inside, but the door was jammed. Using his unlocking tool and his superior Vulcanoid strength, Arnon forced the doors to the CMO's office open.

"Doctor Newmark?" he said. "Are you alright?"

Newmark was down on the floor trying to use a laser scalpel to get the energy enough to hot wire the door.

"I am really better at this with a phaser." He grabbed his bag. "Thanks for that, any of the wounded arrive yet?" Newmark asked while getting towards the center of Sick Bay. "Why have our generators not kicked in?" He shook his head. "Check teh relays, it should have kicked on by now and we will need it for casualties.

Newmark had a plan in his head; the check list for a combat Triage system, this was no different in processing the wounded. " Break out the Emergency Lanterns and someone unlock; by laser scalpel if you have to, the locks on the ready supplies. we will need them until the power is restored by our Generators or the batteries kick in."

Corpsmen and nurses flitted in all directions. People started stumbling in. The nurse Arnon had spoken to when he entered Sick Bay began immediately assessing injuries and directing corpsmen to assist the injured either to wait or to be seen immediately by Newmark and Barak and whatever other physicians were on.

[bridge]

Austin entered command after command into the operations station attempting to localize the reason for the power failure. She switched her attention to the auxiliary batteries. "Command pathways to the back ups are down. attempting to bypass." She called out, re routing the circuits through other systems in order to get back up power online.

"Security," Sam said, again tapping her combadge. "Guard the prisoners. This could be an attempt to free them."

"York to Marines," she said next. "I know you're already at alert. Keep me posted in case there are boarders."

=^=Copy that Commodore, we've locked down the Marine deck and are ready for orders. With your permission we could use the Marine deck as a base and do a deck by deck search assisting Ships security=^= Cam responded over the com

"With the ship vulnerable, I'm relying on you in case this is to facilitate a boarding," Sam said.

As suddenly as the power went out it came back on. As did the red alert klaxon. "Unauthorized personnel on decks 10, 12, 15 and 20," the computer announced.
