Mission: Deadly Diplomacy

ON

The senior staff had been given notification of a mission briefing the night before. Now, Sam had pastries, juice, coffee and tea set out for her staff. It was only fair that if she called an early-0morning meeting she provide them with refreshment.

Ignatz strolled into the conference room and looked around, seeing the captain, he said, "Good morning, Ma'am, and how are you?"

"Better than I've been in a while," she replied cheerfully. "How are you settling in?"

"Oh, the chapel was a bit dusty, but nothing a little elbow grease couldn't set right. The robes are big, but I can take them in. Believe it or not, there was a time when they would have been tight on me." Ignatz grinned.

"I hear there's a fine seamstress on the ship," she added.

"Goot Day." Munich said as he walked into the room. "I hope I am not late?" He said as he acknowled the two people in the room with his padd in hand. "Lieutenant Jones. I hope your quarters and such were acceptable, I tried to get you one with a view?"

"Hello, Lieutenant. Welcome," Sam replied.

Ignatz grinned, "A very welcome thing after being stuck in that solitary pit for so long, thank you indeed." He poured himself a cup of coffee, but passed on the danishes, even though the scent of them made him drool. If he was going to be getting heavier, he'd rather it was healthy weight, and not nearly as much as he'd had before. Finally he took a seat, sat back and waited for the meeting to begin

Lt. Roberta Andrews walked into the room and gazed around. Some new face, some old ones, she thought. Absentmindedly she looked around for Lukk, then remembered that he was gone..at least for the while. It had been hard, telling the twins about hm, but before he had left the two of them had talked to Oliver & Olivia at length that his going away was for a medical reason, he wasn't *leaving them,* he'd be back. Andrews felt her tummy. "Going to have to find some furniture for you, when the time comes," She thought again with a smile. She went over and sat down at an empty seat, PADD in hand.

The doors parted and no sound of her usual clicking of heels as Spartacus strolled into the room in her usual style of stride that naturally resembled a model on display. She had a PADD in hand as she looked up to see Ignatz, she quickened her pace slightly and went to him. "Ignatz... " She greet with a smile on her face. "You look much more handsome now my Friend." She stopped short and looked at him. "This is my real color; I changed my looks so not to get killed when I last saw you." She offered a hug. "I am sooo glad you made it."

"You clean up nicely as well, though you can rest assured that you looked quite nice dressed as a slave girl." Ignatz said with a grin.

"That you ." She smiled brightly and winked. "Complements are always accepted from a dashingly rugged type.

Ignatz chuckled, "Touchee, Counselor, well played. "

Cam was next to enter. He didn't say much to the other officers assembled in the room as he made his way over to his seat, "glad you're back Ma'am" Cam said to Sam as he sat down.

"I'm glad I'm back, too," Sam replied with a smile. "Thanks for the assist."

"Anytime. Just tell me next time you intend on leaving the ship"

"If I have advanced warning," she assured him. The last time was not by choice and if all went well, would not happen again.

Austin walked into the room and stopped for a second before finding a seat. It was the first time she would be meeting most of the staff.

"Welcome, Lieutenant Brown," Sam said warmly. "Everyone, this is Lieutenant Austin Brown, our new Chief of Operations."

"Lieutenant, I'm Captain Bourne, Marine CO" he said with a nod, "welcome to the busiest posting of your life"

"Pleasure to meet you sir. " She said then nodded to the other officers. "Busy I can handle. " she smiled.

Andrews noticed Lt. Brown and shyly waved and slightly smiled.

Max walked into the room, a slight smile on his face as he went back to wearing his old fashion black suit and tie. For the meeting, he had his traditional Admiral Pips attached to the collar to still identify him as an Admiral. He was still acting Chief of Intelligence until his replacement, which was on the way, showed up. "Good morning." He said with a smirk as he walked over to a chair and sat down.

Tallas walked into the room slightly after Max. She still dawned her slightly nervous look on her face as she still wasn't a custom to being at these kinds of meetings.

Kela was asked to attend the meeting, although she didn't know why. For some reason, she had gotten a message to come to the briefing room and attend the meeting. No other information was given after that, which only made her much more curious as to why they wanted her there to begin with. However, this didn't exclude the fact that she was struggling to keep herself whole. A small headache plagued her and this was apparent by her own hand rubbing her temples as she walked in and took an empty seat.

"Hello, ladies. Please, grab something to eat and have a seat," Sam greeted the new arrivals.

Damon walked into the room wearing his old SFMC fatigues and stood against the wall just inside the rooms entrance. He made a point not to draw attention and made no indication that he noticed anyone else save his wife, Samantha, whom he gave a quick smile before taking up the same stoic facade as before.

Sam caught Damon's eye for a moment and smiled. She had to admit, he looked good in fatigues. She impishly shared that thought with him, then focused on the task at hand.

"Thank you for coming. As soon as our special guests arrive, I'll get started."
