Mission: Revenge
ON
-Fighter Bay-
Leroy was tired of sitting around waiting for orders. Waving his hand once he had reached his office door, he started moving towards his fighter. -^-Commander Vance, this is Mangalia. I'm launching the fighters. If you have anything you need us to do, please relay the order.-^- Shaking his head he grabbed his helmet once he reached his craft and stepped inside.
"Alright boys and girls, lets get em warmed up and if we get orders than we'll do what the bridge asks. Other than that, we'll just wing it."
Phoenix started her preflight checklist. Finally, they were somewhere they could actually get out and DO something. "Phoenix ready," she reported a minute later. She was glad no one could see the grin of anticipation she couldn't hide.
Hobbes smiled to himself as he hopped into his cockpit. He dug himself into the seat and started flipping switches on his bird before his helmet was even on. "Hobbes ready." He said absently after he noted his wing's indicators flashing on his HUDD.
On the Bridge, Andrews raised her eyebrows and looked at her board, then turned to Vance. "Commander, did you authorize any launches? Any trails those ships make could destabilize the 'signature' from the abductors."
Being to how we are in normal space we can safely say any launches are safe." Munich said. "What might be effective is to have the fighters launch in the six directions in a circumference search for where the ship dropped out of warp and hope that we might get an Impulse Ion trail to get behind?" He checked his panel. "I can see if the nearest Subspace relay caught any coded transmissions, it may not decipher but at least a transmission and destination... or even a direction would help."
"Lieutenant I find it hard to believe you cannot distinguish the warp trails of several small modern federation fighters from an aging federation cruiser. Mister Munich is correct in his evaluation in that our fighters have been deployed using your data to aid us in determining where the vessel dropped out of warp. I hope I do not need to lecture you on how to filter out our fighters.
Andrews shook her head. "My apologies, Ma'am..it won't happen again."
=^="Master Sergeant Mangalia, data has been uploaded to all your fighters. Determine where that vessel dropped out of warp and where it transported our people. Once your task is complete return to the Calypso for a briefing."=^=
Leroy whooped and started filing out his flight plan for his men and women, before sending orders to each and every pilot. "Alright boys and girls, as soon as we get the word, I want launch in forty five seconds, turn and burn in the directions I've given each of you. There are six points, three men to each team. You know your jobs." As the fighters all started to hover, he hit a button in his cockpit, where music started to play. He could still hear if any chatter came across, but good music always helped on missions. =^=Commander, we're ready as soon as you give the word.=^=
Hobbes gave a toothy grin as he looked through his cockpit at the Master Sergeant. 45 seconds was a hell of a lot faster than the 1:30 governed for safe exit. The Caitian liked it. ~Bout time we had the whip crack down~ he thought to himself. He was a "razor's edge" kinda cat and he made sure his wing was the same. He had seen Phoenix' wing in aerial combat and knew she was of the similar breed. This new Sergeant would be good for them.
S'rren absently tapped his knuckle on the canopy twice, a tradition he had kept since his first flight, before grabbing the stick and waiting for the launch order.
-Sickbay-
Dr. Ilse Frost walked around in Sickbay and checked to see if each station had enough supplies. She glanced up now and again to watch a few of the various staff move around. They were ready for any incoming injuries if any were to head their way. Otherwise it was business as usual.
--Bridge--
"Go!" She exclaimed annoyingly to Leroy over the comm system.
-Launch Bay/Space-
Forty-five seconds had been the order. Forty-five seconds became thirty-two as his men launched quicker than he had ever seen before. Following in the rear, he pulled up and went upside down over the bridge as he took the top area of the vector he had given himself. Punching the throttle he caught up and continued on an upward angle as his men were searching the vectors for anything that could have been an ion trail.
-^-Sir, I think I've found something,-^- One of his pilots chirped in, cutting the music off at the same time. Turning it off, he made for the area that had been called out.
-^-Vance we have an Ion trail at 226 Mark five, me and mine are already on it.-^-
