Mission:
Revenge
Location: Calypso, Bridge
ON
Alexandra had tasked both Science and Ops with tracing the warp trails of the ship that had taken Samantha and crew. Luckily the crew were able to identify the ship as an excelsior class vessel making it considerably easier to trace. Given it's age the ship had not done so well to mask it's destination and the Calypso was now in hot pursuit.
"Lieutenant Munich, what is our progress? Have we reached the ship?" Alexandra asked as she approached the operations console.
Lt. Andrews was at her Science station on the Bridge, awaiting info from Lt. Munich, to tie it into their ships Nav/Helm stations..
Munich had the systems tied together, mostly putting through the Communications Array. The comm badges were used as a ocator and then 'filtered out' of Transport. There was a place to make the conversion.
"With the comm system used to locate and lock, just like homing in on a comm badge, we can get the common angle of where the ship was transporting them to...." He patched the data through to both science and the Helm for the 'angle of trajectory' from the Transporter signals. "The signal came from 190 degrees lateral and Positive 'Z' 45 degrees." He informed. "Just off the Impulse and in front of the Nacelle section of the ship, a typical attack angle from my experiences. Mercenaries would hide in places like that for raids? It is the best transporter angle as the propulsion systems tend to add static to mask the sensors."
"I can track the trajectory of the ship to where it jumped into warp," Maria added.
"Then do it. Helm, once the data is gathered set a course to follow the trajectory." Vance stated as she walked down the ramp and took a seat at the centre chair. She wore a confident smirk as she sat down staring at the screen. I've got you now. she thought to herself.
Andrews smiled inwardly. "We're going to get you kidnappers..and if you've harmed Lukk." Her thoughts trailed off as she got back to her board.
"Yes, ma'am," Maria said. She sent the trajectory to helm and crossed her fingers.
Pyotr looked down at the coordinates and entered them into the computer. "If we match the trajectory exactly and jump to warp when they did, we have a good chance. If we're off by a degree, we'll miss them by light years."
He turned to Vance. "Ready on your mark."
"Make it so." she stated flatly. "Just try and at least get the right system."
"Yes, ma'am. Just like finding a needle in a haystack," Pyotr said, turning to helm and preparing the ship to jump to warp.
As soon as Vance gave the order, Cam stepped onto the bridge from one of the aft turbolifts. Quickly looking around, he walked over to stand beside the tactical station,? "Commander, Marine units are ready for deployment, on your order"
Vance simply continued to look forward at the screen awaiting further news from ops and science.
A thought came to Andrews as she kept up her science console with Helm and Navigation. "What if they *want* us to find them?"
"Not likely." Munich said. "They would have left better bread crums to follow. They were sent for a snatch and grab assignment, the second set of transports after we knew they were there is an Orion Style. What I find so interesting is dat we get an Orion Counselor just ... minutes before the crew disappear?" Munich look over his shoulder. "How much do we know about her really, this reeeks of Orion Syndicate and suddenly we get an Orion Counselor just before it happens? I request permission to really check her out, verify she is not a plant?"
Vance's expression did not change but she was surprised by the revelation. She had missed this detail and she was not about to use the op tempo of the ship as an excuse. Her operations officer was more familiar with the personnel than she was.
"How about we leave this to the professionals Mister Munich? I will handle the investigation regarding our new counsellor, permission denied."
"Yes Ma'am." The sharp German accent came out as his 'Military School past added to this. "I have analyzed the signal strength of the Transporter acknowledgement in the Comm system. Each badge was triangulated before transport, the frequency of the signal used for lock is in the normal range for Terran Mercenaries and the Orion Syndicate, closer to a system; if I were to hazard a guess, to the Orion technology. Without the Transporter signal being scanned it is all guess work anyway but the tactics and sheer ego to transport at two different times just to cause fear is more of an Orion Tactic Ma'am."
"Thank you Mister Munich I believe we have already established the Orion's are behind this coup now could you please tell me where, or maybe even a specific who instead of spewing conjecture?" Vance replied with a scoff leaning into her chair wanting to bury her head in a sand dune.
"Try looking in Direction Zero four mark Two as point of probible departure, that is where the signals came from and Transporter activity seemed to point." Munich told calmly. "Transferring coordinated to Helm."
Andrews looked up from her console."Commander, Science station is reading '5 by 5,' station in in tandem with Helm/Navagation, and weapons,"
"Got it," Pyotr said, setting in a course. "Hold onto your seat belts, here we go!"
