Mission: Revenge
ON
Spartacus moved tpwards the exit, taking tme to note Nero and give him an unsatisfied glare. He had the cards at the moment and Spartacus had a Gladius, the range was significant, the winds nothing to to care about but if ahe did the guards had weapons that could vaporize her.
*Just wait.* She thought to herself.
Two burly guards went to push her back into the Arena, she stepped back before those slimebag hands could touch her not so clean but servicable uniform.
"No rest for the winners?" SHe held the better Gladius in hand ready to fend off anyone who came near.
"WHo do you think you are?" Niro demanded of this upstart Orion.
"I am Spartacus..." She announced and kept the blade ready.
A number of spectators laughed out loud at that, which made Nero scowl more. "You are no Spartacus. But if you think you're up to the task, then I will give you the chance to prove yourself, little gladiator."
One of the doors into the arena opened and Sam strode in, wielding a staff. "Things not going the way you planned?" she said mockingly to Nero.
He didn't acknowledge her comment. Instead, he signaled to his guards to bring in two opponents for the fight.
"I am taking the price of my wardrobe damage out of your hyde Nero." SPartacus warned him with a glare in her eye that showed why Orion women had the off-hand reputation of being fercious. "You have no idea how much my uniforms cost." She moved towards Samantha the Commanding Officer. "Ma'am, I will protect you as best I can." She said quietly and winked. "If they get past me I think you can handle them?"
Sam looked the men over mockingly. "I dealt with gang leaders in a prison facility." She glanced at Nero and smiled coldly. "I can handle a few over-grown Oompa-Loompas with an unwarranted sense of their own abilities."
"Okay then, you want the big one or the smaller one?" She had asked this just a few moments with her last partner. "You're the Boss, you choose?"
Sam looked the two over carefully. "I'll take Oompa, you get Loompa."
One man was short and muscular. He wielded a two-handed axe like it was a toy. The other was tall and lanky but nonetheless wielded his sword like he knew what to do with it.
Sam went for the short one. "Come get me, Gimli," she said, grinning. She wasn't much of a sword fighter, but if she played her cards right, it wouldn't matter.
The man bellowed and ran towards her, his axe raised for a killing blow. Before he could get close enough, she raised her staff and caught the man between his legs, twisting her body sharply and lifting, using his own momentum to knock him off his feet -- and causing him a great deal of pain in the process.
He dropped his axe and grabbed his groin in pain. Sam took advantage and hit him over the head hard enough to render him unconscious.
Spartacus took the chance to walk towards her opponant, she saw that her target and went almost nose to nose with her blade down as though she wanted to issue a formal challenge. She look up to his eyes and in a swift kick; one that she had done to shatter sapplings.
The man howled in pain as he hit the ground, his knee shattered and leg bent at an acute angle. He went to curse and looked at Spartacus in time to see her boot connect with is head sending him onto his back.
"And Don't look up my skirt." Spartacus said with a slight sigh as it took great Chi to accomplish this feat as well as her last fight.
Nero wasn't pleased with how quickly the fight ended -- and the lack of blood. "Kill them," he ordered.
"No," Sam replied. "And before you issue the next threat, remember, that if you kill me, the person you report to will be very displeased. I'm pretty sure he wants to kill me himself, am I right?"
She didn't need a verbal response to know she'd made Nero uncomfortable. "And if you kill any more of my crew in retaliation, I'll stop fighting and you will still be in trouble. So, I suggest you let this one be and let your boss know we're not going to play by his rules."
It was almost a bluff. Sam knew she was risking not only her life, but Spartacus' as well. But she felt very strongly that she was right. That whoever was behind all this wanted her and Damon to suffer, to be broken, so that he could come in and kill them himself. He would not be pleased if Nero did it for him. All she had to do was hope Nero's hubris was not greater than his fear of being killed himself.
"You know nothing of me or the people who run this facility," Nero scoffed. "Nor am I afraid of your puny threats. However, you do make one good point. It would not be very entertaining to simply shoot you. Therefore," he nodded to his guards, "I will instead give you more opponents. Let's see if your bravado survives another battle."
We take down enough it will really make you look bad to your Boss you know, might want to rethink your just giving us a chance to make you look bad?" Spatracus interjected as the doors opposite them opened. "Too late for that I guess..." Spartacus readied herself for combat.
"You know the old adage, He who does not learn from history is doomed to repeat it," Sam said in reply. Nero was obviously playing with the wrong deck. All she had to do was make him see it, and then wait for him to make a mistake.
The two coming out were considered quite capable; one of great height; about two meters, with a loincloth and massive club. The other was a woman; her lythe form had scars amongst the 'roman style' armor and she knew how to use the 'net' she was given and gladius
"So Boss you want the Golem or a 'Cat Fight?" Spartacus asked while not taking her eyes off the targets.
"This time, I'll take the big one," she replied. "He looks a little under-dressed for the occasion." Sam watched him move and weighed her options.
