Mission: The Devils Snare
Location: Conference Room
Timeline: current

ON

Montgomery called a conference of his senior staff, he knew John wanted to send a team down to the planet, but he was a little concerned that they'd not looked at all the options. He took his seat at the head of the table and waited for those he'd asked to join him.

Samantha had done as much research as she could on the area and the planet. There wasn't much available, however. She brought what she had on a PADD. "Hello." She greeted the Captain with a smile as she walked into the room and took a seat at the table.

Alex walked into the conference room, cradling her arm, which was sore. She bumped into a crewman while leaving engineering and he really did a number on her arm. She gave a smile though, as she took her seat.

Sheridan nodded as he entered the room and took a chair

"While we wait for the others, Commander Sheridan please can you give me the latest on the away team plan?"

"A move into orbit and some planet scans for a start, if we can pick up any activity we send the team in covertly and snoop around a bit."

Damon walked into the meeting already in progress dressed in his full assault gear. The BDU's stood out in stark contrast to the Starfleet standard and even more so the Marine carbine that was slung loosly around his shoulder.

He nodded to all of the occupants before quietly opting to stand in a corner of the room rather than be seated.

"I assume the away mission will be more of a scientific one?" Sam asked. "So what size away team are you considering?"

" I was planing on sending a team with Lieutenant York with a small escort of Marines Sir."

Damon considered what was being said. An entire ship full of people went missing and he had trouble believing that it was by choice. He guessed they weren't being send to the surface with an escort of marines unless there was the very real chance of there being some kind of hostile force behind their disappearance. Likely Samantha was chosen to lead the mission because of her naturally analytical mind and if they did meet up with other Starfleet members she would have command rank to make decisions for them.

"A section of the first platoons Marines should be adequate for the task." He piped up. He would have rather had the entire platoon go down with him, but decided that he would leave half of the most combat efficient on the Orion in case they ran into trouble while he was away.

Samantha nodded. She was looking forward to going down to the planet, and was glad that Damon would be going along as well. She mentally began to run through who she might need along with her.

Sheridan had been watching Lieutenant Raine, "I'm sure that would be of great assistance to us Lieutenant, we don't know whats down there."

"Who else are you thinking of for the mission?" Sam asked Sheridan.

Sheridan ran his hands through his long hair, "My main concern was some backup fire power with the Marines around I'm sure we'll have that. I'll leave the rest of your team to you Lieutenant, I trust your judgment completely."

"Okay," Sam said. "I'll have a team ready whenever you say."

Sheridan Nodded his head, "Lets get it rolling York."

"Yes, sir!" Sam said with a nod. She glanced over at Damon, glad he'd be part of the team.
