Mission:
Subjugation
Location: In the Mines
ON
Cameron was standing off towards the edge of sector 3 with Kara and Trent when the riot spilled out of sector 2. "This can't be good" he said, preparing himself for a fight. Glancing over at Kara, he looked down to where she kept her knife, "I'd get that thing out if I were you, this is going to get really bloody, really fast"
Kara pulled out her knife and kept it close to her side. "If Trent's right, Commander Raine is still here somewhere. Question is, do we stay to find him or go to Sector Five for reinforcements?"
Cameron looked around, "how much time do you need to find him? We've only got a small window of time"
Kara looked to Trent. "I don't know. Trent saw him last week."
Trent shook his head. "And a week ago down here means a whole lot. This place is a revolving door of corpses." He looked over his shoulder. "I saw him in the next Sector over. We need to make a choice here, either support the people in Sector 5 where we know other Fleeties are or move deeper into the mines for people that are likely dead." He didn't mind the idea of going deeper in, he just wanted everyone to resolve what was at stake in their own minds.
"Alright, let's get to it" Cameron said, starting to scan the area. After a moment, he spotted a small group of Klingons standing off to one side. Smiling slightly, he turned to Kara and Trent, "as you two know who you're looking for, I'll leave you to it. I'm going to get a feel for the area"
"Don't go too far. I don't want to go looking for you, too," Kara urged.
Cameron smiled, "No worries, I'll be back before too long" he said, turning and disappearing into the rustling croud
Kara turned to Trent. "I say we find Commander Raine. I have a feeling eh's still alive. But what do you think?"
"Honestly?" He asked. "He's one of ours. If anyone could survive this deep and this long it would be a Marine."
Kara nodded. "Precisely why I'm not ready to give up on him."
After a few moments, Cameron caught up with Kara and Trent, "well, from what I've been able to gather, the situation in Sector 2 has been getting worse for a while. It seems like something finally snapped. You may need these" he said, pulling out a couple of D'k tahg's and holding them out.
Trent looked at him suspiciously before taking the weapon. "How they managed to get these here in the first place is impressive. How you got them to give them to you without a fight is something else completely. For a guy who says he owes no allegiance to anyone, you must have a way with words."
Cameron smiled, "actually, I believe action speak louder than words" he said, pulling out a d'k ting of his own, "and after a while in a place like this, you quickly learn how to pick the right targets. How else do you think I've survived here for a year? As for how they managed to obtain these, I think there are some prisoners here who have a deal with the guards, so they can get 'special items', but I'm not sure what the guards get out of it"
"I'd rather not speculate," Kara said, taking the weapon and looking it over carefully before nodding. She had her suspicions, based on some of her own experiences, but she wasn't going to voice them. "Okay. Cam, you seem to know your way around. Trent has the Devil's own luck. I'll follow your lead."
"hmm" Cameron thought for a few moments, than nodded, "alright, I'll see what I can do, but I need some info first. What can you tell me about him, hight, size, hair colour, that sort of thing" he asked, trying to build a profile for the Commander
"About yay high." Trent said as he put his hand up to the six foot mark. "Human. Built like a marine. Short dark-ish hair...Hell i don't know."
"what about unusual features? Scars, burns?" Cameron asked, starting to make a mental picture
"Too bad you're not a telepath. Then you could simply take the image from our minds," Kara said, not sure how to describe the Commander.
"I don't know of any defining features." Trent shook his head. "'Looks like a Marine' is about as good as it gets. You can rule out tattoos and long hair. " He thought for a moment. "Actually that isn't true. I think he does have a Force Recon tattoo on his arm from back in the day. I have no idea what division."
"than that'll have to do" Cameron said, looking over at the ever growing croud coming from the next sector, "let's quickly search this sector, than we'll move to Sector five and meet up with your friends"
Kara nodded and slipped down a small path between two tents. If they were going to find anyone, it was most likely off the main paths as that's where the trouble was brewing.
They cleared the sector and slipped to the next while the guard was busy arguing with a group of vocal workers.
Finally, they made it into Sector Five with no sign of Commander Raine. Kara was disappointed. "Well, let's report to the others and see if they've heard anything.
