Mission:
The Race for the Lost Treasure
Location: USS Calypso - Ready Room
[USS Calypso - Ready Room]
After the incident outside the ship and inside the ship Tovan had walked into the ready room and waited for Lieutenant Levue to join him in the ready room. He walked over to the window and looked outside as he waited.
Once her replacement had arrived, Levue followed Tovan into the ready room. "You asked to see me, sir?" She asked.
"I did." Tovan said as he turned to face the Lieutenant. "I would appreciate it if you didn't pull the same stunt as you just did out there again, at least not while I am in command of this vessel."
"While that is certainly understandable, Lieutenant Commander Tovan, I would appreciate it, just as much, I'm certain, if the bridge staff were to do their duties, as regulations require." Levue said, with a bland face.
"Understand Lieutenant, and I will have a talk with the Chief, however you can't pick and choose which regulations you want to follow and when you want to follow them." Tovan stated as he walked closer to the desk.
"Your actions on the bridge violated several Starfleet regulations. Your actions disrespected the Chief who happens to be a higher ranking officer than you. In addition, you disrespected me in front of the whole bridge staff by undermining my authority. If I truly wanted to Lieutenant, I can have your ass for it, but I will let it slide this time. Let this be your lesson learned there is a time and place for everything. If you learn that you will go a lot further in your career."
"As, Lieutenant Commander Tovan, could I, have yours." Levue countered. "Shall we begin your debriefing, of your previous battle engagement? Shall we start with the fact that you never even raised the vessel to yellow, nevermind red alert? Or how about authorizing an attack on a vessel, without attempting to contact the shuttle craft we were attempting to rescue? More importantly still, Lieutenant Commander, shall we discuss the fact that you took a vessel in to active combat, without notifying the Commanding Officer of this vessel?"
"You are correct Lieutenant, "Tovan smiled. "By all means, feel free to file a compliment with the Starfleet Command, but since it will take them some time to receive it, review it and act on it that means that I am still in charge of the ship until the Captain returns from the planet." Tovan nodded. "And as such I stand by my point."
"I will refrain, in the future, from raising to the troll baiting set by officers, who should act with more responsibility, than Lieutenant Jourdan did, considering his position, and rank." Levue stated.
"That is all I ask Lieutenant, I don't care if you voice your opinion I actually want you to do that however like I said there is a place and time for it all and that was not the place nor the time." Tovan said.
Levue refrained from adding any further comment. She, in fact, appeared to chew her lip, but managed to keep her mouth closed.
"Feel free to say whatever is on your mind, Lieutenant."
"I believe that unwise, Lieutenant Commander." Levue said, after chewing her lip for a few more moments.
Tovan thought about it for a moment than grabbed his comm badge from his uniform and took it off tossing it on the desk then looked up at the Security Chief.
Levue said nothing, deciding that chewing her lip was a much more appropriate use of time.
"Okay, I can't order you to tell me nor would I want too." Tovan reached forward for his comm badge. "That was your one opportunity Lieutenant."
"With all due respect, sir," Levue said, in response, "You've already stated that my opinions regarding your disregard for various regulations are irrelevant, based upon our distance from Starfleet Command."
"Would you like to confined me to my quarters Lieutenant?" Tovan asked.
I was about to ask you the same. Levue thought. She refrained. "No sir." She said, simply.
"Okay then." Tovan said as he got up from the chair. "I do need your help. I want the Marines to secure the shuttle but I need you for something else." Tovan motioned for her to follow him. "I want you to "interrogate", I mean talk to the individuals that are inside the shuttle."
"Due respect sir, interrogation is not my specialty. I recommend either Intelligence to take this task, or another member of Security." Levue stated. She added no further comment.
Tovan looked back at the Chief. "You are probably right, but I want you to do it."
Levue nodded. "As you wish, sir." She said. Privately, she took a moment to realize Tovan was rather cute. Maybe I should have restricted him to MY quarters. She thought to herself. She decided it unwise to say so, however.
"Head down to the main shuttle bay, I will meet you there shortly." Tovan said turning back to the door.
Levue nodded, awaiting dismissal.
"You are dismissed, Lieutenant." Tovan said as he stepped out of the ready room.
