Don't Call Me Ma'am

Mission: The Race for the Lost Treasure
Location: USS Calypso - Faye's Office

"Ma'am, you wanted to see me." Mi-na said as she stood in front of the open office door.

Morgan looked up from the PADD. At first she didn't say anything she allowed her eyes to meet Mi-na's eyes for only a few seconds but it felt like it was forever. She eventually looked down to the PADD and turned it off placing it face down on the desk. "Yes, please have a seat."

Mi-na walked into the office but with a certain caution the way Morgan looked at her she didn't like very much. It was almost as if she knew something. Mi-na shook the feeling aside and took a seat.

Morgan leaned back in the chair crossing her legs she looked across the desk at Mi-na. "I am not sure if you are aware yet but Lieutenant Tovan is currently serving as the ships Executive Officer while the Commander is away on a mission. That means that in the time being I have been placed as in the position of Chief of Operations."

Mi-na nodded unsure to what this exactly had to do with her.

Morgan paused and continued to watch Mi-na from across the desk. "Lieutenant Tovan has decided to make you the Assistant Chief of Operations during that time."

Mi-na was surprised by that. She had only been on the ship a few days. She didn't expect to be placed in such a position even if it was for a short period of time. "I see..."

"I understand that you are still very new to the vessel and that you are attempting to get use to everything however I will need you to learn quickly." Morgan stated.

Mi-na nodded. "Don't worry, I will ma'am."

"I have some things I need you to look over right away." Morgan said as she leaned forward grabbing a PADD she handed it to Mi-na.

Mi-na grabbed the PADD from Morgan. "I will get on it right away ma'am."

"You and I will be working together a lot over the next couple of weeks so I was thinking that maybe we can have dinner tonight and go over some things." Morgan suggested.

Mi-na thought about it for a moment. She had other plans already but she nodded. "I will be there ma'am."

"Good, my place 2000." Morgan said with a smile. "I won't keep you any longer."

Mi-na nodded and stood up. She turned on to leave.

"One more thing, Lieutenant." Morgan said looking at Mi-na.

Mi-na stopped and turned around to face Morgan. She was worried what was about to come.

"Don't call me ma'am..." Morgan said with a smile.

Mi-na nodded and smiled back. "Yes m..." She caught herself. "I won't.'
