Mission: The Race for the Lost Treasure
Location: USS Calypso - Main Shuttle Bay

(Continued)

"I'm not the enemy here," Barbara said, looking at the drawn phaser pointing at her. She was appalled with this Chief Security Officer. With her lifetime experience of nursing bedside manners, she put her thoughts together and kept her anger at bay. "Of all policy in sickbay, we treat an outsider...prisoner or not...just the same as everybody else as far as medical goes. I was not interrogating the prisoner. I was using psychological technique for relaxation in a conversation as we all do with patients," she looked at the rank pips on her uniform, "sir."

"Well, you would be advised to not do so on high-security patients in the future, nurse, if you'd like to remain out of the brig. It's against more than a few regulations." Levue countered. "And, like I said before, if you don't like it, take it up with the Commanding Officer on duty. Any further arguments on this point will result in a written report on your flagrant disregard for regulations."

"Then, I must not know about this regulation if it has been updated...no argument here." She continued where she left off of using her instrument, healing the patient's wound, thinking that regulations should not be so strict in sickbay. The patient she sees here appeared to be harmless, not some mean Cardassian with a hateful or bad attitude. She knows not to judge the book by its cover and that it is good to have security to cover all means of outsiders on board. Maybe she will have a word with Doctor Bowen, who is still on the away mission, and to the Commanding officer.

"Wait. PRISONER? Who said I'm a prisoner. I asked for help. I was under attack. Why am I now your prisoner?" Morgana asked, appalled at the turn of events.

"Lady, I don't know how things work where you come from, but mumma told me never to trust a stranger, and Starfleet Security training taught me to keep them under lock, key, and guard, until you are certain they aren't a threat." Levue said, with a scowl. She looked to the nurse. "I'll make sure you get a copy of the Security training manuals. Even non-coms are supposed to know ship-board basic security procedures."

"And here I thought I'd found someone who could protect me," Morgana muttered. "Fine welcome this is." She made a mental note to keep away from this one if she could.

"Look, I can't treat her if she is uptight here...Lieutenant. Leave your security as you wish, but I need to do my work here...sir," Barbara said. "And, I don't welcome threats in sickbay."

"Then turn the emh on, or find someone who can. I've already told you to go talk to the commanding officer on duty, if you don't like it. I'm here on his orders. Further discussion will be counted as insubordination, and ill throw you BOTH in the brig, and you can treat her there." Levue said, in an even voice.

"As of right now, I'm in charge of sickbay until one of the doctors return. Doctor Bowen will not be happy to see you throw me in the brig and she does not like to use the EMH unless it is an emergency," Barbara blurted out, with a little anger in her voice. "I would be glad to speak to the commanding officer, but I can't at the moment as I have patients to deal with," she looked at two other men on biobeds with burns in various places and two of her nurses with less experience than her. The EMH has no common sense of bedside manners and she never did like it. She wished that the Chief of Security would just go away and not be looking down over her shoulder.

"Yes, and I have a potential threat to this vessel to deal with." Levue said. She scowled at the nurse. "I'll be happy to page him for you, in case you have forgotten how an intercom works." She added. She turned to Morgana. "You are not to answer any questions regarding how you got here, or why you were being chased by that other vessel, in a non-secure, non-security facility. This will be enforced by posted guards, wherever you go, until the Commanding Officer on duty says otherwise." Her tone indicated that neither Morgana, nor Barbara had a choice in this manner.

Morgana lay back on the biobed with a sigh of frustration. "Wake me when you decide I can eat," she muttered sarcastically. If she ever got out of sickbay, she'd take great pleasure in taking the ship and her crew down.
