Mission: Shades of Gray

ON

Jourdan had managed to beam up a 'small' sample of technology for them to look at. Of course what she had beamed up had been very specific. The cargobay doors opened and she stared at what was sat in the centre of the large room.
"It looked smaller on the sensors..." she said as she approached the object.

Sat in the middle of the room was a LNER Gresley A4 Class Locomotive with the running number 60018 and the name "Sparrowhawk". Jourdan tapped her comm badge to call in the rest of the team.

"Lieutenants Torel, Lovok, Wolfe and Commander Tovan can you come to the cargo bay please?" she asked as she approached the old locomotive.

Tovan was in the neighborhood so he was the first one to arrive in the cargo bay. As the doors opened and he stepped inside the cargo bay he raised an eye brow as he saw what was standing right in front of him. "Intriguing..."

"Hi Commander" Jourdan said. "The captain wanted a sample of technology, so we've got this..." Jourdan explained.

Damion walked into the cargo bay. He looked like he was a bit nerved as he looked through a PADD. "This better be-" He looked up and stopped as he looked at the train that was now right in front of him. "What....the...hell?!" He started to slowly walk towards it and then looked at Jourdan and Tovan. "Alright. Whose responsible for this?" He said as he pointed to the train.

"It looked smaller on sensors" Jourdan said her head popping out of the train's cab a blue floppy hat on stained with coal.

"You need to adjust your sensors because they are obviously wrong." He said as he took a step back and looked it over again. He hit his combadge. "Wolfe to Lancaster. Your gonna want to come to cargo bay two." He said softly as he put his PADD down on a crate. Damion couldn't take his eyes off the train for some reason. "Does the Captain know you did this?"

"Oh yeah, she told me to beam up something" Jourdan replied. "Hey, shall we steam this up?" Jourdan asked throwing a piece of coal up and down in her hand then accidently dropping it. It smashed to the floor and sent coal dust all over the cab making Jourdan's uniform and face dirty.
"Oh look I'm a steam engineer! Woo Woo!"

"Starfleet really needs to start giving more detailed psych evaluations." Damion replied softly as he shook his head, watching Jourdan make a fool of herself.

Ronnie walked into the cargo bay. "What the ...?" She walked over to Damion. "Where'd THAT come from?"

"Nutcase over there just beamed it up from the planet." Damion smiled as tapped her on the shoulder. "You wanted to know more about their tech. There ya go. Don't say I never did anything for ya." He laughed as he looked over to the train and then shook his head.

"That thing's HUGE," she whispered to Damion.

Tovan stood in the back watching this Lieutenant JG apparently run the show. He took a deep breath. Not often did he do things like this but this particular Lieutenant was starting to rub off on him the wrong way. "Excuse me, Lieutenant Wolfe. May I speak to you over here for a moment?"

Jourdan at this moment had her head stuck in the locomotives firebox. From inside the train you could hear the muffled shout. "I am not a nutcase!"

Ronnie walked closer to the train. "Lieutenant ... uh ... ma'am? Where'd the train come from?"

"We beamed it up from the surface" Jourdan explained looking down from the cab. "However this locmotive was built in Doncaster, United Kingdom on Earth. According to this little plaque" she explained pointing to a small brass placque in the cab near the controls.

"Yes, Sir." He said as he walked over to the Tovan, putting his hands behind his back as he stood next to him. He had never meet this man, so he had no idea who he was. His rank obviously said he was a Lieutenant Commander, so he was his commander officer. "Oh. Lieutenant JG Damion Wolfe."He extended his hand to him. "Chief of Intelligence."

"I know who you are Lieutenant Wolfe." Tovan said. He obviously wasn't very happy with the Chief Intelligence officer at the moment. "You might not know who I am which is a little bit concerning as you are suppose to be the Chief Intelligence officer aboard this vessel. If I was in your position I would make sure I knew everyone and everything aboard this vessel."

"Anyways Lieutenant JG, I will not stand for the disrespect you have shown towards Lieutenant Abbott and continue to show it. I don't know the relationship between the two of you off hours nor do I care to know it but when you are in uniform and on duty you will treat everyone with respect especially if they are your superior officer." Tovan looked over to the locomotive which was parked in the cargo bay.

"You can either knock off the smart-ass remarks and make yourself useful here or go back to your office and do whatever it is that you Intelligence folks do. The choice is yours..." Tovan took one last glance at the Lieutenant then headed towards the locomotive.

"Hey, if you two would stop bickering, can we please find out more about this lovelly thing?" Jourdan asked patting the side of the train.

Ronnie looked on silently. Apparently the stress of the current situation was affecting the crew.

Marek walked in and froze at the sight of the massive 'small' sample of technology. He then saw everyone and approached them. "I'm guessing this is our sample. Well what a great start for our new chief engineer." He said.

Tovan stopped near the train. He didn't say anything but simply began examining the sample of technology that was beamed aboard by the new chief engineering officer.

Samantha had been notified of the commotion in the cargo bay. She walked into the room and stopped, her reaction somewhere between shock and awe. A train? She walked slowly into the room and found Jourdan. "Lieutenant, I should have said inconsequential instead of harmless."
