Mission:
Shades of Gray
Location: Leo's quarters
Timeline: pre-mission
Erin felt a bit guilty for not catching up with Leroy after the mission. However it had been a few busy weeks and the workload hadn't eased up any til a few days previous.
This was why, a few weeks later, she found herself knocking on the door to his quarters, holding a cup of coffee and a box of muffins.
Apparently thats what humans did when visiting someone elses house, but she wasn't really sure of the decorum, havn't spent literally no time on earth outside of the academy.
Leo was half dressed, having an 'A' shirt on and his fatigue pants. They were dark in color, him wanting to distinguish his men a little better than just with the normal greens. He opened the door and saw that Erin was standing there. "Lieutenant, something I can do for you?"
''Not really, I just felt guilty about not having talked to you since the mission. I didn't want you to think I was being rude or anything. So I thought I'd pop in and say hello.'' Erin said, holding up the box of muffins.
''I brought muffins. I was told this is what you're supposed to do on earth when you go to to see someone... Am I interrupting you at a bad time?''
"No, no come in," Leo said stepping back. He looked at the box and smiled. "I know it's not your fault that you're not coming around or having me come around, we've been dead busy, and I've been in Sickbay for a couple of days."
Erin stepped in and looked around in moderate curiousity before turning back.
''Sickbay?'' She asked instantly, a little concerned. ''Bit of a stupid question considering the circumstances, but are you all right?? What happened?''
"Pneumonia, from that mission we just got off of. Nothing life threatening."
Erin winced. ''Ouch. If I'd have known that I would have visited.''
She grinned. ''Must have been all that waterfall-diving that did it for you.''
"I was only there for a day Erin," Leo said with a laugh. "It may have been, but it was fun while it happened." Walking over, Leo hugged the woman tightly and then held her at arms length. "And there's something I have to tell you. I'll be leaving the Calypso here in a little bit."
Surprised, Erin hugged him back, chuckling from his last comment, but her face fell at his next peice of news.
''Leaving? But the Caly is your home. Are you ever coming back?''
"I know, but I have other things I have to answer to, not just Starfleet. I may come back, I don't know as of yet, but if I do, you'll be the first one that I look up, alright?"
Erin smiled a little sadly and nodded. ''Sure.'' She squeezed his shoulder lightly before turning and walking to the door. ''I'll let you get on with it then. You take care of yourself, Leo.''
Smiling, Leo walked from his room, looking forlorn. The Marines were his life, and this was a chapter that was closing down, never to be opened again. Sometimes, it just happened that way.
