Nartu walked into the Orion's arrivals office after having set down his belongings in temporary digs on Jupiter Station. He had heard many things about his Captain, and but he wanted to meet the man in person.

Nartu spoke up like any proud Cardassian would:

"Ensign Binjole Nartu, Chief Tactical Officer and Chief of Security aboard the USS Orion, reporting for duty."

Montgomery looked up from the PADD he'd been studying, and quickly scanned the man stood before him. There was only one Cardassian on the list so far so this must be the tactial officer. "Welcome to Jupiter station Ensign, I trust you had a good trip?"

The Ensign responded with a hint o sarcastic humor in his voice: "Well, if going from Cardassia Prime to the Sol System at warp 3 is fine, then yes. Just kidding, sir. It was fine. It's great to be part of the crew on a Galaxy class starship."

"Served on a Galaxy before?" enquired Montgomery?

Nartu responded: "No sir. However, I'm familiar with the class's schematics and I'm confident I'll know the ship better than you do in a couple of days."

They both chuckled at that response, Montgomery added with dead pan seriousness "we'll see about that." Changing the subject Montgomery asked "Have you met any of the other crew members?"

Nartu stopped to ponder for a moment, then responded:

"Ah, yes. I just remember I had a meeting with our fine XO this morning. I'm excited to work with him. You're lucky, sir. I wish more people were as capable officers as Lieutenant Sheridan is."

"I think our senior staff is shaping up quite well, I consider myself to be very lucky. Interesting that I've got two cardassians in my security section, have you met your security investigations officer yet?"

Nartu responded casually:

"No, however I was thinking that once I got my office set up on the Orion I would set up a meeting with him."

"Well Ensign I suggest you go get your stuff ready and prepare a crew requisition request for your department we'll be aboard before you know it."

Nartu got up. "Aye, sir."

Montgomery watched the Cardassian leave. "Interesting" he said to himself before turning back to the stack of PADDs on the desk.
