Mission:
Shades of Gray
Location: Ten Foreward Bar
Timeline: Current
Erin arrived in the Ten Forward bar that evening, heading for the bar and ordering herself a
scotch- none of that synthenol crap, thank you very much.
She had changed from her uniform into a pair of jeans and an open shirt, revelling in the
rarity of the occiaision that she was out of her uniform.
She had been debating on wearing some of her more comfortable, preferred Kazon gear, but thought it would be best for once to fit in, seeing as Tav didnt know her that well and she didnt want him thinknig she was a cavewoman or something equally as mad.
''Put it on my tab.'' She told the batender, pouring herself a glass.
Tav walked in a few moments later, dressed in his usual casual clothing. He wasn't all that convinced this occasion required special effort, but had been certain to get changed as opposed to turning up in uniform.
"Good evening," Tav greeted Erin as he approached the bar.
Erin necked the shot and slapped the glass down on the table, looking up with a grin.
''Evening.'' She greeted, waving the bartender over in case Tav wanted a beer or something.
''After so long seeing everyone in their uniforms, its great to see someone in civvies. Uniform gets so...boring after a while''
She added, giving him an appraising look-over.
''Sit down. Get yourself a drink. Seeing as you're the new kid on the block, put it on my tab.''
"Tab?" Tav replied, an eyebrow raising slightly. "We have to pay for things around here?"
He sat down at the table, and smiled in her direction, knowing it was only a figure of speech.
Erin grinned. ''Smartass.'' She replied, filling the glass again. ''I swear, don't leave me to be the only one drinking, here. Leaving the impression of alcoholism on my shipmates would never end well.''
''So hows it going for you? Fall victim to any 'first-day-on-the-job' pranks?''
"Not as yet," Tav replied. "I think the staff are scared of upsetting the WO."
Erin laughed. ''Good to know. I did'nt get pranked either on my first round.''
She took a drink. ''But I'm pretty sure that had something to go with the tales Voyager brought back about the Kazon's being batshit mental than any actual respect.''
"Similar to the Scottish then," Tav replied with a chuckle. "People don't tend to mess with us, because we're a little rough when it comes to pranking back!"
Erin laughed. ''Oh really? And here I thought Scots were known for their kilt's and charming humor.''
''Remind me never to prank you then. I might just end up out the airlock.''
"Well pranking an engineer on a starship has never been a good idea," he joked. "What are you drinking anyway?"
Erin held up the now-empty glass with a grin. ''Scotch.'' She said in a conspiratorial low tone. ''The bar only dishes up Synthenol, buuut they 'may' have a fund of actual alcohol tucked away for speical occaisions that I always seem to persuade to get them to serve me with.''
She sat back with a satisfied grin. ''The perks of knowing how everybody on this boat ticks.''
