Lumina sat on a chair next to the cot, watching the man sleep. Had she done the right thing in bringing him here? She wasn't sure. What she was sure of was that she was tired of the current state of affairs. If this man -- and his starship, as he did indeed appear to be Starfleet -- could help the cause, it would be worth it.
Marek slowly opened his eyes and when he saw the woman sitting by him. He shifted as far away he could from her and watched her. "Who are you? What did you do to me? Why am I here? Where is here?" Marek asked.
"I am Lumina. You were drugged so you could not stumble on our present location. You are here because we need your help." She answered his questions simply, with little detail.
"What kind of help?" Marek asked.
Wilsh scowled, as he entered. "No, no, no. I thought I told you, our intelligence data is out of date. The leaders wear red now. I thought we covered that after the security woman." He harshly whispered at Lumina.
Lumina turned to glare at him. "I know that. He's not a hostage. He's going to help us. Just because you can't manage to do anything right doesn't mean the rest of us are equally hampered."
She turned to Marek. "Sorry. He has some woman he's holding hostage. He thinks she is someone important."
"I'm not." Wilsh said, shaking his head. "That was Bilbo's great idea. I told him we should actually observe their command structure, first, but he grabbed the witchy one from the medical center, instead of the pompous one from the meeting with the second, and first assistants."
"You kidnapped one of our medical personnel? There's a virus going around and it is killing your people. We need all our medical staff fighting the virus as we can get to save lives." Marek said as he had passed by the medical center the Calypso medical department had set up on his travels to find out more on the planet's technology.
"She's not a doctor. They wear blue. She's in yellow, like yourself," Lumina said. "And if someone had brought her in as a guest and asked her for help instead of treating her like a prisoner, she might not be such a witch."
"Be that as it may, I'm not thinking she's going to be much help, and I don't think this one is going to be any help, either." Wilsh muttered.
Bilbo entered the room. "She won't eat. She just urinated on me."
"Perhaps she's a feral starfleeter? Do they go wild, if left unattended?" Wilsh asked.
Lumina rolled her eyes. She was beginning to wonder why she ever got involved with these people.
"If you take me to her and explain to both of us why you need our help, I'll see if I can get her support." Marek was trying to suppress laughter about one of his fellow shipmates urinating on the man.
"She just URINATED on Bilbo." Wilsh said, in a tone one used to a child who clearly didn't understand base logic. "I'd be more worried about catching rabies."
"She doesn't have rabies, Wilsh," Lumina admonished. "She's Starfleet. And you don't get rabies that way. She'd have to bite you for that." She chuckled at the thought of the woman biting Wilsh.
"Focus people! Do you want our help or not?" Marek said.
Lumina glared at Wilsh. He was too concerned about the woman in the other room. So, she decided to lay her cards on the table and hope for the best. "Yes, we want your help. We need your help. If you'd met the governor you'd know why. He's part of a faction that took over the government shortly after the outbreak. Everyone in the former government got sick. Half of them died. Then the new group came in and took over. Since then the disease has spread to most of the planet. We can't find a cure and the government is ruining what little remains of the economy -- and our sanity."
"Just so you know I am an engineer and I must speak with the other officer as she may be higher in our chain of command then I. Please take me to her." Marek said, "Or bring her to me either way but soon for we are in a race against time."
"Bring her here," Lumina asked Wilsh.
Wilsh scowled. He was in charge, and she was giving him orders. He shook his head, then nodded to Bilbo. "Bring her here. Make sure you've got the restraint field active."
"Can I at least change my clothes first?" Bilbo asked. "I still smell like Bajoran pee."
Wilsh pointed at the door. "BRING. HER. HERE. NOW!"
Bilbo scowled, and nodded. He left.
