Personality & Traits
General Overview | Mitchell (or 'Mitch' as his friends and colleagues call him) is generally the life of the party with his friends -- he is as easy going as can be, to a fault... there are times where instead of facing his true feelings, his nonchalance leads him along the path of not dealing with his emotions. Mitch is a very agreeable person who works well with others. He rarely gets into conflict with his peers or his coworkers -- that said, he is hardly a pushover. His subordinates respect him and he is seen as a stable and reliable officer. |
|
Strengths & Weaknesses | Mitch is a highly social, highly intelligent member of the crew. Among his greatest strengths are his analytical abilities (stemming from his years in Intelligence) and his organizational abilities coming from years as an officer looking after subordinates. Mitch's greatest weakness is his perceived need to be liked. Most likely stemming from being an only child with parents who were too busy to spend time with him regularly, Mitch tends to overvalue acceptance from others and unless he is backed in a corner, he will likely not show any type of anger or argumentativeness. |
|
Ambitions | Along with most officers in the command trades, Mitch one day hopes to be the Captain of a starship. | |
Hobbies & Interests | Mitch enjoys keeping fit -- he works out often, takes a variety of martial arts and plays recreational sports whenever he can. Outside the gym, Mitch is an avid reader, soaking up any type of information he can to better himself and his chances at high profile positions within the fleet. |

Personal History | The son of a Vice-Admiral, Mitch spent his formative years traveling between the stars. Born on a starship, he was no stranger to the Starfleet life -- moving from starship to starbase to outpost as his father moved up the ranks. At the age of 16, Mitch left home to San Francisco to attend Starfleet Academy, specializing and excelling in intelligence and counterintelligence operations. Upon graduation, he was posted to the USS EXETER as one of her junior intelligence officers. Two years later, Mitch was promoted Lieutenant (Junior Grade) and assigned to Starbase 88 where he completed a two year post as Assistant Chief Intelligence Officer followed by a third year at the rank of Lieutenant and billeted as Chief Intelligence Officer. Given the opportunity of a lifetime, Mitch was offered a job as an Intelligence officer at the Federation embassy on Bajor. On Bajor, Lieutenant Foster met his soon-to-be wife, Toran Essa. Essa and Mitch fell in love and were married two years into his posting. Not long after their wedding, Mitch realized that his interests had shifted -- while he remained deeply interested in intelligence operations, he had a desire to function as an attache and work in project management and mission advising rather than synthesize reports on a routine basis. The commanding Admiral in the sector, Rear-Admiral Davis, posted Mitch as aide de camp to the military attache, where for three years he excelled not only in intelligence work but in staff work as well. Mitch has since been transferred to the USS Orion as a mission advisor to the Captain where his staff experience is sure to serve him - and the ship - well. |
