Kyt's eyebrow propped up, while reviewing the list of the ship's telepaths. "Captain, I find myself altering my recommendation. Rather than a diplomatic convoy, you would seem better equipped to this situation, given your heritage. This does alter the Security compliment I'll be sending down." She said. One of the slightly greener ensigns who had originally been there as backup was replaced by 'Ensign Tramira Kyt'.

Sam looked over the list. One side of her mouth quirked up at Kyt's name. "All right."
Kyt nodded, knowing Sam understood the change in Security. She patiently waited for the diplomat to complain about her altered recommendation.

"If I may ma'am I'm not sure in this case if I'm being sent. If not may I recommend my self for two reasons ma'am. If people are hostel or become hostile at any point I'm espier dead ma'am that being one reason and I'm very well trained in this type of area and I believe I can move more easily then most of you no offence meant."
Two as to there Tec I am trained from archaic communications form earth 1950 until modern Tec for communications." said chichire just trying make sure if the captin went down
she was there to provide cover for her.
Kyt scowled at the implication that her security personnel were not sufficient for the Captain's protection. She contemplated pointing out that the last time the marines had been tasked with her protection, she'd gone missing. "As are Ensigns J'bar, and Kyt." Kyt muttered under her breath. "And these aliens only notice telepaths. Esper blindness is irrelevant, as Stran was not able to establish contact until he actually touched the tree. In that sense, save Ensign Stran, the currently selected Security part is about as 'uniquely qualified' as you."
"It's not that the trees only notice telepaths, it's that only telepaths can hear the trees," Ronnie clarified.
She had a few other comments about Chichire, and the marines, from the previous mission rolling around in her head, including the manner in which they dispatched the people who kidnapped the Captain. She refrained from voicing it knowing that the sound of her agitation, and the thoughts, themselves, would nearly knock the Captain over.
For the first time in a long time, chichire had actually laughed aloud at some one. Ignorance is bless I guess. "Oh you should read the full mission report not just negative thing in them" chichire then fell silent was going to ignored the rest of what she would say back only looking at the captain.
Leo stepped in at this point. "Corporal, you're not going. There's nothing to fight down there. As for your comments, they were out of line." Looking at Kyt, Leo smiled weakly and took another sip of his water. "As for the combat reports from our last official mission, some of it could have been handeled better, and myself, Colonel Raine and the good Captain have already discussed it. Security is just as good as any of my men, despite any feelings from either side."
chichire just walked out of the room. The ignorance thinking ever thing is about fighting or killing she mumbled under her breath as she went out of sight
Kyt nodded to Leo, grateful that he understood. Him, I'll deal with. He can be reasoned with. Kyt thought. An echo of something in the back of her mind brought the question of whether or not she was capable of being reasoned with. "Appreciated, 1st Lieutenant. We will discuss a few things later, I think."
"While I appreciate Corporal Shintaku's desire to be helpful and to keep an eye out for hostiles, in this particular case I believe it will be unnecessary. We're dealing with sentient trees," Sam said. "They don't use communication devices. They ARE the communications devices." She turned to Kyt next. "I am also not convinced that you need a touch telepath to communicate. I heard the trees when they were temporarily beamed aboard the ship. I think that means there's a way to communicate with them using standard telepathy. At least that is my assumption until I'm proven wrong." She looked one-by-one at the group. "And, until I am convinced otherwise, I wish to send a group of telepaths with a few security officers, down to the planet to make first contact. I would like to have backup if we get stuck there, but if we are successful, there's every chance that won't be necessary."
Leo looked at Kyt, then fingered his collar. "I got promoted Kyt, I'm a Captain now. But I welcome the discussion." Looking to Sam, leo shook his head. "The small security force most likely won't be needed either. I was armed with a combat knife, and nothing came close to attacking me, or Tal. But hey thats your choice Ma'am."
Erin nodded. ''He's right. I even went as far as to pluck fruit off of one of the trees, and no hint of anything hostile at all.''
Kyt scowled at the picking of fruit, but said nothing.
"Then, if there's nothing else, I believe we can end this meeting and form the away team," Sam said.
Leo nodded, then sneezed again. "Sorry Ma'am, I'll get it checked out as soon as possible. If there's nothing else, I need to go find out whats bugging my sniper."
"Please do," Sam told Leo. "And see the doctor about that cold."
