[USS Calypso - Operations Center]
Tovan wondered into the Operations Center. It had been almost a week since he had been in the center. A lot of his time was spent either on the bridge or on the planet's surface. Now, that they had managed to do all they could they were moving on. It was a bitter sweet moment. He had built a certain connection with the planet but he was also looking forward to their new assignment.
Tovan looked at his office. The lights were off, but the lights in the office to the right were on. He heard Morgan talking inside the office. He figured she was talking to someone over the communications channel.
He wondered over to the door and poked his head inside. He saw her in front of the replicator. Her back was to him so he waited for her to turn around. He watched as Morgan grabbed a cup out of the replicator and went to turn around as she did she hadn't expected anyone to be standing there so she jumped back a bit and spilled her coffee out of her cup.
That was not what Tovan expected but he rushed up to her. "Are you alright?"
Morgan just stood there in a bit of a shock. Some of the coffee spilled on her uniform but most of it ended up on the floor as did the cup. She took a few seconds before nodding to Tovan. "Yeah, I'm okay."
Tovan had grabbed a cloth and attempted to dry her uniform where it had spilled.
"You shouldn't do that to people!" Morgan said with a bit of anger in her voice as she just stood there allowing Tovan to dry her uniform.
He looked up at her. "I'm sorry; it was not my intention for you to spill your drink."
She grabbed the cloth for him and shook her head as she stepped back attempting to dry what she could. She knew she would have to go change now.
Tovan sighed and picked up the cup placing it back in the replicator.
Morgan chuckled. "I guess I was in my own world that I didn't even hear you come into the center."
"I heard voices in here. I thought you might be on the comm channel or something." Tovan said as he turned to look at her.
Morgan sat down on the edge of the table and blushed. "No, I was just talking to myself." She looked away.
Tovan nodded. "I see." He noticed her reaction and smiled. "Nothing to be worried about, I have done it plenty of times. It helps me think sometimes." Tovan said as he stepped over to the empty chairs in front of her desk.
Morgan looked at him and smiled. She appreciated his attempt to make her feel better. It actually worked. "So, the operation went smoothly." Morgan said as she knew that's why he was in her office. She turned around grabbing a PADD.
" Excellent." Tovan grabbed the PADD from Morgan. It was the report of the operation. He began examining it quickly.
"The bodies are in the ships morgue. We haven't informed the doctor yet as we were waiting for further orders." Morgan added as she looked down at her uniform and sighed.
Tovan nodded. "I will inform the doctor so they can begin an autopsy of the bodies."
Morgan moved off the desk and wondered over to the replicator. She placed the cloth back in it and turned around to face him. As she did that she noticed the extra hollow pin on his collar. She smiled. "I see that congratulations are in order."
Tovan looked up from the PADD at her with a puzzled look on his face.
Morgan smiled at him and pointed to the collar.
"Oh, yeah. Thank you." Tovan responded. He smiled as he felt a bit foolish for forgetting about it. He was excited but he had work to do.
"So, when do we get to throw a party for your Commander?" Morgan asked. She knew his answer already.
Tovan shook his head. "No such thing is necessary."
Morgan smiled. It was exactly what she thought he was going to say. "Understood, sir."
Tovan looked at her. She gave up easy it was not like her. Not like her one bit.
"Well, congratulations sir." She said as she stepped away from the replicator. "But now, if you don't mind I am going to change into a clean uniform."
Tovan smiled. "Go right ahead, Lieutenant."
Morgan nodded and left the office. Tovan left not long after her.
