[USS Calypso - Sickbay]
Delon and Lumiya were beamed into sickbay. Delon picked her up quickly and carried her over to an empty bio-bed in sickbay. He wasn't sure what was wrong with her but after checking her pulse he knew that she was still alive. Plus, he could feel and hear her breathing gently. He wondered if it had anything to do with the device that he deactivated during the beam in. Either way, he needed a doctor. "Doctor!" He yelled out as he stood over the bio-bed looking down at Lumiya.
Doctor Jason Hart quickly approached the biobed as he picked up the tricorder to do a scan. "What happened? I don't recognize this person..."
"You wouldn't Doctor." Delon said as he watched the doctor begin his scans. "Her name is Lumiya Onasi, the Alliance leader from the planet. I had her beamed up from the surface. She might have information that might be useful in dealing with the current situation."
"You did what? Tell me you didn't go down to kidnap a female to go out with her," Jason said as a joke while he did a read-out of the instrument. He started the scans at her feet, legs, abdomen, and chest. A couple of beeps sounded negative, which caused him to stop at her head and he closed the tricorder, putting it away on a near-by table. He rolled her head to the side, moving her long, blonde hair out of the way to inspect the back of the head. He used his hand to palpate the head and moved down to her neck. Just as Jason's hand came down to the base of her neck, he felt something and stopped. He moved his hand away to inspect a one inch circle metal that appears to be made of titanium. "Looks like she has a device on the back of her neck."
Delon nodded. "Yes, I was aware of the device but not its location." Delon looked up from Lumiya to the doctor. "During the transport it was picked up by the transporter filters. I had it deactivated before she materialized in the transporter room." Delon looked down to the neck where the device was. "Can you remove it?"
"Well," he switched on another scanner to scan the back of her neck and looked up at the viewscreen on the wall. "That's going to be tricky. This device is somehow attached to her nervous system through her cervical spine. I've never seen anything like this before." He looked at Delon as if he was trying to read his face expression. "I might be able to try, but I won't guarantee that this might cause a damage..."
Just as Doctor Hart was explaining that he might be able to do it but can't guarantee that it won't cause any damage Morgan stepped into the room. She heard that and looked to Tovan. She figured that Delon hearing that would make him think twice about it.
"Do it Doctor." Delon said without missing a beat.
"You can't be serious? Didn't you hear what he said? It could cause damage to her nervous system." Morgan protested as she stepped closer to the bio-bed.
Delon looked over to Morgan then back to the doctor. "Proceed with the procedure doctor." He understood the risks and he was willing to do it anyway. He knew that this was the right course of action. That whatever that device was inside her wasn't good and that she would want it removed.
"You can't do that. We can't be making these decisions for her." Morgan protested again.
"Lieutenant, you are dismissed." Delon said as he looked to Morgan.
She knew she had crossed the line but she couldn't stand back and let this happen. She looked at Delon for a few seconds than turned around and stepped out of the sickbay.
Delon turned his attention back to Doctor Hart. "Keep me updated on her situation, I will be on the bridge."
"Yes, sir," Jason said as he looked at the screen, thinking of options to remove the device that would be less evasive. He thought of notifying Doctor Bowen, but he ordered her to get some rest in her quarters after giving her a quick physical; discovering that she had an unknown virus causing cold symptoms. Seeing that Lieutenant Tovan was gone, he called out for the EMH to help him with this situation.
