[USS Calypso - Corridor]
Morgan had walked out of sickbay after being ordered so by Tovan. However, she didn't get very far. She leaned on the wall across from the sickbay door and decided to wait for him. She couldn't understand why he was doing the things he was doing. She wanted to find Commander York as bad as him, as bad as anyone on the ship, but she didn't think that the way they were going on about things was the right way. It wasn't Starfleet way.
A few minutes later the doors to sickbay opened and Tovan stepped out. He saw that Morgan was there waiting for him. He didn't expect anything less from her. He motioned for her to walk with him as they headed down the corridor. "What's on your mind, Lieutenant?"
Morgan looked at him from the corner of her eye and sighed. "I must admit I am taken back by your actions. In the past half an hour you have kidnapped an official from a foreign planet, you are allowing a procedure to be carried out without her approval. You have violated at least half a dozen Starfleet and Federation policies. You can be court-martialed for these acts."
They stopped in front of the turbolift door. Delon turned to Morgan. "I know, Morgan...I know."
Morgan looked at him as he called her by her first name. He was always so professional when on duty only using either the rank or the last name. He had never called her by her first name. She began to understand that he knew the risks involved in his decision but still couldn't understand why he was willing to jeopardize everything he has worked for. "So why do this if you know how high the risks are?"
"Sometimes in life you have to take a chance. I know this can backfire on me and on us. We can do a lot more damage than good but if it works we can also gain so much more." Delon said as the doors to the lift opened. The two of them stepped inside. He was going to the bridge and Morgan was to return to her office.
Morgan was silent. She was starting to understand. There was a lot she had to learn. She always followed the rules set forth by the Starfleet and Federation. She did everything by the book.
"Lieutenant Faye, I need you to put together a team. We need to analyze the information we have gathered so far from the planet. We need a clearer picture of the situation on the ground."
Morgan snapped out of her thoughts as she heard him talk again. She nodded gently. "I will start on it right away."
"Excellent..." The rest of the ride was very silent. Morgan had so much more to say to him but she couldn't find the words to say it so she remained silent. The lift eventually came to a stop and the doors opened.
"I will keep you updated on the progress." Morgan said as she stepped out into the corridor.
"I will be on the bridge if you need anything..."
Morgan took a step than stopped and turned around looking at Delon. "I hope you know what you are doing. I...we can't afford to lose you."
"As do I, Morgan." Delon said back to her.
The two of them just stared at one another for a couple of seconds than Morgan stepped back and watched as the doors shut. She turned around and headed for her office. Delon headed to the bridge.
