"Oh, gods, here we go..." Moaned the exasperated Chief Science Officer from Science II at the back of the bridge, where he had no chair, unlike his assistant Lancaster who was at Science Main - it occurred to him he should have usurped the position from her, instead of just taking what was available.

[Marine Deck]
Leroy growled as the ship shook and rattled. He was shoving men before him, grabbing some for what he may need for boarding parties. "I want everyone helping with damage control! If you have to, get into Enviro's! The men I've grabbed, get to the armory and get ready for a fight!" Looking around, the Marines had been mobilised the best he could do it.
-^-Major, I've got the men into two teams. The boarding parties are ready if needed. I just grabbed random Marines so I have a speckling of everything. The rest are on damage control. What else do you need us to do?-^-
-/-Just hunker down Lieutenant. Make sure key areas are sealed off and fortified in case they board the ship. have a platoon loaded and ready in a hopper in case the Commander asks for a rapid deployment. Other than that it seems like you have things locked down.-/-
[Bridge]
"Let's try a little unexpected combat strategy." Jaxara said, taking advantage of their close range to the vessels. He fired torpedoes midway between them, in a unique orbit of the collective masses, which made targeting with non-phaser/disruptor weapons a little more dicey. "That should Keep any unexpected surprises down. Engineering, you wouldn't be able to fix the port phaser array, would you? I'm showing a power loss of about 6 percent."
Kaj punched a few buttons and initiated the Omega-2 maneuver but almost immediately intervened and made more than a few adjustments after Lorne's announcement
"Inverting Omega-2, rolling to starboard, fire at will."
"Nice spot. Thanks." Jaxara said with a nod. "Firing."
[Marine Deck]
Kara donned her gear and prepared her squadron to repel boarders. She wasn't sure what would happen, but she wanted to be ready to back up the XO with whatever he required. "Melo to Mangalia. First Squadron is ready, where do you need us?"
Leo peaked his head around the corner and smiled. "You're the only one with the repellers Sergeant. I need you at easy access points, but able to move at a moments notice. I'm going to be running around like the chicken, so I may not be able to answer a distress call right away. Don't split up too badly tho Sergeant, I need everyone to come home alive you hear?"
He finished donning his gear and walked around the corner. "And Sergeant, I need two of your best stationed at the bridge. I don't want anyone getting through them." Looking, he noticed a Corporal passing by and grabbed their arm. A nameplate was on their chest, saying Shintaku. "Corporal, I want you with the Sergeant over there. You'll be leading the Bridge security team, and I need you to make sure no one gets in."
Kara nodded. "Aye, sir. Nothing gets pasta us," she assured him.
Trent watched the exchange between the his Sergeant and the Lieutenant. "I'd like to volunteer for the bridge assignment. He said you needed you best up there and i'm it." He allowed a cocky smile to spread across his face.
Leo looked at the boy and shook his head. "No private, I have a special place for you to be..." a smile lit up his face, he had someone finally to guard Shalie.
[Bridge]
Karma watched the viewscreen again and nodded. Jaxara left something to be desired when it came to discipline and self-restraint but the man knew how to handle the weapons systems. "Jaxara," Karma said, still looking at the screen. "Try concentrating everything on the starboard ship. Let's see if we can't even the odds a little."
=^= On it Bridge, =^= Marek called from Engineering and he grabbed a tool kit along with a weapons systems specialist before heading out to the port phaser array. Considering battle was taking place it was a mayhem of activity throughout the ship; Marek and specialist had to dodge, weave, run, slowly avoid or find an alternate route at several locations due to internal battle damage.
[Mercenary Ship]
The captain looked to his tactical officer and smiled. "Hit them, hit them now." He smiled darkly as the ancient plasma weapons charged and fired twice, glancing off the shields of the large Federation ship. "Hit them again, but use the right weapons this time, or I'll have you replaced." Looking at his control panel, he fired the engines up and shot forward, a new ship that hadn't been there in the first moments of the fight. This was smaller, faster, but much less armed. Its phasers began to charge and fired bursts, like a repeating phase rifle.
Thats what they were really, larger versions of repeating phase rifles, cheap on the intergalactic black market, but powerful enough to do some damage. "Keep firing, as much as we have to spare and then everything else. When we're close enough, blow the engines, I want them crippled."
"Aye Sir," a catian said behind him, smiling with terrible glee. Readying the engines to eject and blow, he laughed. "Secondary Engine ready to go when we dump our primary's Sir."
