A Check In...Finally

[USS Calypso - Operations HQ]

The doors to the Operations HQ opened and Morgan stepped in. She quickly noticed that Sakura was already at the communication console working. She didn't see James anywhere. He was either running late or had been taken away to other duties in the transporter room. Either way she just needed to get in touch with Tovan so she really wouldn't need James for that.

Sakura looked away from her console and over to the door to see who it was that entered the room. She noticed Morgan and she had a look on her face as if asking if there was anything to report. Sakura shook her head gently and shrugged her shoulders unsure of what was going on.

Morgan nodded and headed for her office. The first order of business was to get some coffee than she was going in search of her missing boss. That man was going to make her hair turn gray. After she grabbed a cup of coffee from the replicator she stepped out to where Sakura was and took a seat near her. "So we haven't heard anything from him at all...?"

Sakura turned in her chair and looked at Morgan. "No, nothing at all. It had been pretty much communication salience since he last got in touch with us."

Morgan nodded and sipped at her coffee. She let out a gentle sigh allowing the warm coffee to make its way down. It felt rather good. It was just what she needed. "How about communication from the palace...anything suspicious...?"

"Nothing out of the ordinary..." Sakura responded as she turned around in her chair and faced the console once again. She felt a little bad like she had done something wrong.

"Alright, let's call him and see where that gets us..." Morgan said as she leaned back in the chair crossing her legs she took another sip of the coffee. She would be asking for some time off when he gets back aboard. She watched as Sakura nodded and then got to work, after a few moments the channel was open.

"This is Tovan..." The voice came from the other end.

"It's about damn time!" Morgan said as she sipped her coffee. "Do you know how worried you have everyone up here?" She asked. She didn't care that he was her boss at this moment. She was very upset with him and she was going to let him know it.

"Ugh...I'm sorry...?" Tovan responded.

"As you should be...you broke the procedure and protocol. You had gone without checking in." Morgan said.

Sakura looked at Morgan. She couldn't believe how Morgan was talking to Tovan. She sure was brave. Sakura thought to herself that she would never be able to do anything like that.

"I know, Lieutenant. It won't happen again." Tovan responded. He knew he was in the wrong and deserved everything that Morgan was dishing out to him. He wasn't going to fight her or yell at her. He would act the same way as if he was in her position.
"Good..." Morgan said as she just finished her cup of coffee. She was feeling a lot better knowing that he was alright and also that the coffee hit the spot. "So, is there anything that we should know about or act upon?"

"No, nothing at all...I am on my way to the conference once again. I am not sure how long it will last but I will stay in regular contact with the ship as well as Commander York." Tovan responded.

"Alright, so its business as usual than I assume..."

"Yes Lieutenant, business as usual." Tovan responded. "I am almost at the conference so we will have to continue this at another time."

"Just make sure you do check in this time." Morgan said with a smile on her face.

"I will. Tovan out."

Morgan looked over at Sakura and smiled at her with a wink. She got up and headed for her office. Now knowing that everything was alright she could focus on her job. And there sure was a lot to do with Tovan being down on the planet.
