Mission: Peace, or Something Like It

"Use the encrypted wavelengths. Make sure the Federation scanners aren't paying attention. Set up the attack on the power plant supplying the conference." The Orion Captain noted.

"Yes sir." Various Orion, and non-Orion men said with a nod.

"Ready the kidnapping squadron. You have the bio-signs of your targets. Remember, this must appear to be a local attack. No transporters!" The Orion Captain said with a nod.

Again, the men nodded.

"You've hired the local mercenaries?" The Orion Captain asked.

"Yes sir. They will all be dressed as typical of the local political group, Alliance." The Romulan man at the communications console noted. "And we are using and extremely low wavelength to transmit to them. While it doesn't allow for the best of communication, base communication, involving an almost-binary sounding collection of beeps, what humans call Morse code, is permitted. It's tight-beam, it rather has to be. Nearly untraceable."

"Very good. Very good. All as planned. How many other mercenary ships are there in the area, that didn't go absolutely nuts, when they saw a Galaxy class ship enter the system?" The Orion Captain asked.

"Seven in total. The Starship appears to be slightly damaged, but certainly more than a challenge for any two vessels. If you want to blow them out of the sky, you'll need to cooperate with the others." The Romulan noted.

"Pah. Blow them out of the sky? When we can implicate them in this whole mess?" The Orion captain asked.

"Ever the tactician." The Romulan said, with a nod. "We'll be ready for the kidnap attempt shortly."

"Good." The Orion Captain said with a nod. "Send the word that all is going according to plan, provided the Starfleet ship doesn't magically figure it out."

"Yes sir." The Romulan said, nodding again.

"And Kreal, don't forget, I don't give second chances on my ship. You may have served with me for Five years..." The Orion Captain trailed off.

"Only because I have not made a mistake." The Romulan said with a nod. "May I make just one suggestion?"

"Name it." The Orion Captain said.

"Talk one of the other mercenaries into jamming subspace." The Romulan said.

The Orion Captain smiled, then nodded. "I'll have a chat with a few of them."

The Romulan smiled. A smiling Captain meant he got paid. And was permitted to continue breathing.
