The sound of the morning alarm began to echo through the interior of the quarters. It was morning already aboard the Calypso. Morgan rolled over in her bed. The sound of the alarm was not a welcoming noise but it was the only thing that would get her up in the morning. She had tried numerous types of alarms over her Starfleet career and has found that the old fashioned digital clock alarm seemed to work. It was very high pitch and annoying at that.
She snoozed the computer and rolled over under the blanket snuggling up to her pillow and allowing herself to drift back asleep. She computer would start the alarm over again in no more than ten minutes but she just couldn't get up at the first alarm going off so she would snooze a few times before finally finding the strength and will to rolled out of the bed.
This morning was no different and finally after snoozing the computer for the fourth time she opened her eyes slowly and about half way allowing them to adjust to the morning light before sitting up in her bed. She stretched a little bit while sitting in the bed before she turned and stepped food on the floor. She pushed the blanket off herself completely and stood up heading for the bathroom.
"Computer has there been any communication between the Operations HQ and Lieutenant Tovan from the surface of the planet?" Morgan asked as she stepped into the shower. She remembered that they were supposed to wake her up as soon as he got in touch. But seeing how that didn't happen she wondered if they either forgot or he didn't contact them.
The computer responded 'negative' and listed the only times that there was communication between Lieutenant Tovan and the Operations HQ in the last 24 hours. The last time was when she was in there and jamming device had been deactivated. At that time he told them to stand put and that was it.
She grew worried by this lack of communication. She knew Delon, at least she thought she did. He always followed protocol and procedures. It wasn't like him to completely ignore it. She hurried in the shower and stepped out.
"Computer has there been any sort of communication between the surface and the ship in the last 6 hours....?" Morgan asked as she began to get dressed. She would have to skip breakfast this morning and get to HQ as soon as possible to try and figure out what was going on. The computer once again listed various communications but none of them seemed to be an emergency.
As soon as Morgan got dressed she pulled her hair back and headed for the door. She stood in the doorway as the doors opened and looked at the replicator. She shook her head and headed out. She would have to get her cup of coffee once she got to her office and started to figure out what was going on.
She might have to get in touch with Commander York to explain the situation if they can't get in touch with Tovan. All different scenarios began to run through her mind as she headed for the lift. She was hoping for a nice easy day, but this didn't look like it was going to be one.
