"By all means," Karma said with a nod as he gestured for the man to lead the way.

As everyone started moving, Leroy signaled for his men to stop. "I want two with me at all times, and the rest on the perimeter. Switch out every thirty minutes." Several 'Oorahs' sounded, and they started moving again. Leroy started moving as well, and quickly caught up, jogging. "Sir, are there any objections to a joint protection force?" he asked the Captain that had first met them.
Captain Danjou nodded. He still didn't' trust these aliens, but he was under orders and he would obey them
Xon easily turned and walked at a relaxed pace in the general direction of the former forward observation post. When Karma had caught up to him he spoke, looking at him occasionally but slowly scanning his surroundings as if he had done it many times before.
"From your lack of reaction would it be safe to postulate that you are not Commander York but one of her subordinates entrusted to first contact? I was not present for the initial contact made so I only have a rough brief of the substance of that particular conversation."
"Lieutenant Commander Karma Sinclair," Karma said to the man as he looked around the area. "I'm the Executive Officer."
If this had been a cartoon a light bulb would have gone off over Xon's head.
"Ah, that would make sense considering the reputation of this place. Hopefully your time here will convince you that Turkana IV is indeed changing for the better. Ah here we are."
Xon stopped in front of a squat buliding that ancient earth military engineers would have described as a "pillbox", opened a panel and yanked a lever. The obvious door creaked and shuddered slowly and painfully upward into its recess, an obvious product of years of neglect. Still it retracted and held fully, and Xon gestured into its semi-well lit interior.
"Follow me Commander, as well as anybody else in your party who needs to attend this meeting."
And with that Xon easily walked inside, taking a position easily viewable to any Fleet or Marine personnel who was keeping track of the situation.
Leroy watched the man step inside, and stay in plain view. Looking back to his men, he was stern. "Defensive perimeter. I don't want anyone coming close to this place while it happens. And we can call down anti aircraft if we need it." Stepping closer to his men, he drew two marines in close. "Disappear, take up your positions and keep an eye on the diplomat. Anything happens to Karma, I want him on his back before I can pull my knife." The two snipers nodded and smiled, and seemed to disappear as they walked away. "The rest of you, the original plan applies."
Captain Danjou watched the Marine carefully. He used hand signals to send two of his own men after the two Marines. He didn't trust the Federation people. They liked to meddle where they weren't welcome. If anything happened to Xon, he'd personally see to it that none of these people left Turkana IV alive.
Karma stepped inside and took a moment to look around as he waited for their host to enter and make himself comfortable.
Doctor Hart followed the executive officer as he closed his tricorder to put it in his holster. He decided to join the meeting.
Once Karma and Xon were settled into the small building Xon slowly but steadily pulled his hands up and drew the hood back, revealing jet black hair, slightly weathered facial features, and... to put it mildly logic in a place like Turkana IV seemed as rare as pure latinum, and yet right in front of Karma was somebody who's species was a bastion of logic.
"I must apologize for the hood Commander, but somebody in my position must travel as your kind would put it incognito. In my case it is harder than it appears for obvious reasons.
So what questions can I answer or fears can I attempt to allay Commander? I am sure that you have a plethora of them, both of your own volition and at the behest of your commanding officer and diplomatic corps."
