Mission: What Lies Beneath?
Location: Tiberius IV and USS Orion
Timeline: Current

ON

[OLD]

Feeling a small, and I do say SMALL, surge of pity for the tiny beasts, Randy targeted and vaporized each one, using only the thrusters to snap the firefly around to get each Ghezun and use the phasers on each and every one. He quickly realized the issue at hand: there were too many. "Mikkola, on my mark you are going to vent a small amount of plasma." Randy didn't bother listening, for a response, he was busy re-configuring the deflectors into a magnetic net to maneuver the plasma like a fiery net to catch and incinerate the Ghezuns. "MARK!"

[NEW]

Right away Kaj recognized what he was up to and grinned, then started punching buttons
"Roger that, venting plasma through forward bussard collectors"

As soon as Kaj had vented the necessary amount of plasma, Randy maneuvered the deflector shield into place, changing the nature of it so that it was magnetized. He then shaped it carefully, so as to keep the plasma in front of the firefly, and thus be able to have a plasma plow that would keep the firefly clear of the corpses.

From her corner on the Bridge, Nava watched the firefly and the spaced ghezuns. She was happy to see them back safely.

Watching both the sensors and the viewscreen, he deftly and rapidly maneuvered the firefly through the ghezun soup, ensuring that he put as many of the animals out of his misery as he could while clearing a path for the craft to travel through. As soon as they were in range of actually entering the shuttlebay, he flipped the craft around 180 degrees, allowing him to thrust the plasma back into space, allowing it to dissipate, as well as incinerate the remaining corpses.

Touching one last control, he neatly set the ship down, and powered down the engines. He looked towards the Commander, and Kaj. Smiled faintly, then hit the comm panel. "LT Jaxara, I do believe that the bay has been sufficiently cleared. If you would be so kind as to re-pressurize the bay for us so that we can get back to work?"

"Deck Repressurised in 5...4...3...2...1..." Lire's voice came through. "All clear."

"That leaves all of four Ghezuns left. We've got officers on them already." Jaxara noted.

Erin left the bridge as quickly as possible and made her way down to sickbay, after making sure the stunned officer had recovered. She was'nt a medic, but she knew enough to stanch a wound.

[Sickbay]

Doctor Bowen immediately set up the surgery before the transporter materialized the patients and the medic.

When she received the patients, she acknowledged the transporter tech that they got them on the biobeds. She went to work immediately as she discovered that Crewman Smith has a nicked vein that tends to bleed a lot. "Nurse, let's get him to surgery, STAT!"

"Yes, ma'am," Nurse Tarango replied as she bustled about.

Seeing the medic with the other patient, Dr. Bowen looked at her other nurse. "Hook up with the medic and start the basic treatments with the patient. We are suppose to get a new doctor soon...I will be in surgery."

"Yes, ma'am", Nurse Jaynes said as she watched the doctor leave. She glanced at the new medic, "I don't think we have met before. Well, let's get started. If you don't know something, just ask. We will work together through the medical procedures."

[Shuttlebay]

When the all clear sounded and it was safe to leave the firefly, Kara grabbed her gear and headed for the ramp to the Marine deck. It had been an interesting trip, but she was glad to be back 'home.'

Trent grabbed his gear and immediately started mumbling something about taking a long shower and getting a box of Q-tips as he left the firefly.

Leroy sat in the briefing area, talking to some of the men. Someone had spilled the beans about some one being drunk on duty, and he wanted to get all the facts straight. It was unlikely to happen, but he was at least going to try. "Look, I don't care for he said, she said. Someone give me the facts straight or you're all getting suspended and losing rank."

Samantha walked back into the pod to grab her pack before debarking. When she got her bag she looked for Damon so they could leave together.

Damon was the last to leave the transport. His uniform was still damp and his mood had suffered for the discomfort. He hefted his pack onto his shoulder and slung his weapon over the other one. Despite his mood he found himself smiling as Samantha approached him. "I really need to get out of these." He said looking down at his mud stained clothing.

"It would probably be a good idea," Sam replied, catching up with him.

He briefly considered giving her a bear hug and "sharing" the mud, but decided against it as there were too many people around. "Dinner tonight?"

"When and where?" she asked, smiling warmly. She couldn't think of a better way to unwind after a mission than by spending time with Damon

"My quarters. Around 19:00 if that works." He was sure they both still had a lot to do now that they were back.

"I'll be there." She grinned. "Want me to bring dessert?"

He matched her grin before leaning down and gently kissing her. "All I want is you." He paused for a second before giving her a sideways smile "So yeah, dessert sounds good."

"You've already got me," she replied softly. Sam grinned happily. "Come on, let's see what trouble the Orion got into while we were gone." She was being facetious. She had no idea how what sort of trouble they were about to face.
