Mission:
What Lies Beneath?
Location: Orion
ON
Ronnie was manning her station on the bridge, trying to scan for the away team, but there was a major sandstorm and nothing worked. Scanners, communications, nothing. She contemplated launching a probe, but if something were interfering with the ship's scanners, it would interfere with the probe as well.
She sighed in frustration. "Batfeathers." Just then the lights on her console flickered and went out. She looked at the stations to either side of her. Both were operational. "Commander," she said, calling to Sheridan, "My station just died."
Sheridan stood up from the XO's chair. "Not good at all, Snap in a diagnostic as soon as you can and switch to ancillary power."
Ronnie had already tried the auxiliary power. It didn't work for her station. So she went to one next to her and logged in. Fortunately, that one was still working and she was able to reroute science to do an internal diagnostic. It took several minutes as Ronnie had to reroute the scans several times. Finally, she had enough data to report to Sheridan.
"Sir," Ronnie said. "We seem to be experiencing power fluctuations throughout the shim. There are blown relays in over a dozen sections."
Lieutenant Junior Grade Lire nodded. "I've got inconsistent readings of power failures to several..." She stopped. Her terminal went blank. "Bridge consoles. Including Tactical." She finished. "Lire to Jaxara. Tactical station just went down."
"Well, fix it Myrna. Now." Lorne's voice filtered through her comm badge. "And Daniels politely asks you to avoid Duct Tape."
Ronnie had been in the lounge when Myrna was fixing the place with duct tape. She overheard Myrna talk to her Chief. "Call Engineering. They repair bridge stations. You touch anything I'll shoot you. Once I explain about the lounge, Sheridan will thank me for saving the Bridge," she threatened. The last thing she needed was having the tactical officer cause more problems.
=====
In her office, Nava had been going over some of the reports from her predecessor and the power flickered off =^=Nava to engineering. I've lost power in my office. Is there anything I can do to help?=^=
Nava headed for the Bridge, she would be of little use in main engineering. As the last time she tried to repair anything, it exploded. Walking onto the Bridge, she looked for the duty officer "What's going on with the replicators and power and what can I do to help?" Nava asked.
====
In the lounge, Ted was trying to paint the bulkheads a nice shade of light, sea blue. What he didn't expect was for the brush to catch fire and the lights to go out. He yelped and dropped the paintbrush. =A= Turner to Engineering, what in the bloody blue blazes is going on down there!!! =A=
====
Ensign Erin Tal had been on her way to her chair on the bridge, and stopped at a replicator for a drink.
''Coffee. Strong.'' She told the machiene, raised an eyebrow as the contraption sparked and coffee appeared.
Sadly, without a cup to hold it in, the hot liquid dribbled everywhere, mostly down to the floor and over Erin's uniform.
When she'd finished cursing, the kazon hit her commbadge.
=A= Counceller Tal to Engineering. The replicators are botched. Well, at least the one nearest the bridge is. Whats going on!? =A=
=A= We're having problems all over the ship, ma'am. We'll get to the replicators as soon as we can. Engineering out. =A=

Lorne was on the holodeck, training a few ensigns on proper Phaser Rifle sniper-fire.
"Breathe slow, deep breaths. Take a breath in, and as you exhale, gently squeeze the trigger." Lorne said.
The Ensign did as she was told. However, just before she pulled the trigger, the holo-simulation disappeared, and she blew a hole in the holodeck's wall.
"Son of a female dog." The woman muttered.
Apparently, there was important power and data junctures behind that wall, as the door, and lighting instantly became inoperative.
"Security to Engineering. Holodeck 1 is down." Lorne said, after tapping his comm-badge. "And the door is going to need some repairs."
He tapped his comm-badge again, grabbed the phaser from the woman, set it to full/max intensity, and fired at the door's middle. This caused them to ever so slightly come open. Using the phaser as a crobar, he wedged it open enough for himself to get through easily. "Come on, Tara." Lorne said. "Let's figure out what the hell is going on. Bridge console failures shouldn't be affecting the Holodeck."
"Aye sir." The woman said, as she squeezed through the door. "I have to check on Jaz."
"Yeah, make sure the kid is okay, then report to main security. I'll try and round up some hands to help engineering with. Actually help them, mind you. Not Myrna's idea of helping the lounge manager."
The woman nodded. "I'm sure the Captain will appreciate the lack of duct tape, and neon paint jobs sir."
"Likewise." Lorne muttered.
