Mission: What Lies Beneath?
Location: Lounge
Timeline: Current

ON

Ted sat on the floor of the lounge, his back against the bar. The bar was closed. He didn't know why he kept coming here, except that he had been going to work since he was 16 and he wasn't going to break the habit now. Looking around though, there was no real reason to keep coming. The tables were upturned, there were bitemarks and phaser burns everywhere, ghezun droppings, bits of food, and smashed drink bottles because of those idiot security officers. Ted leaned his head back against the bar. Would he have to leave to another ship to actually be able to tend bar?

Erin had wandered into the bar to get a quick look around, but ended up staring, amazed at the carnaged state the bar was in.
''It looks like there was a riot. Rough night?'' She asked with supprise, as she leaned against the bar, looking around in interest.

"Rough couple of missions," he grunted. He wasn't in the mood to be someone's confidante at the moment.

Ronnie walked into the lounge shortly after that, PADD in hand. She looked around for Ted. Spotting him, she walked up to him. "Ronnie Lancaster, science," she said by way of introduction. "The ghezuns weren't rabid and they weren't diseased. I thougt you'd like to know that."

"That's wonderful...now how did they get here?" He got up and dusted himself off, trying to look dignified but failing. His hair was too short to be messy, but he had a couple days' growth on his face and his clothes were distinctly disheveled.

"I don't know," Ronnie confessed. "Most likely in a crate that wasn't transported on board because they would have been discovered by the computer. It could have been a crate of food or someone's personal items. There's no way to be sure."

Daniels was spending his off hours in the bar, fixing defective items... at least, the ones he could read the instruction manuals for. A female security officer was helping him.

"Daniels, pass the duct tape." The woman said.

"You've said that 19 times already. I think the lounge manager is going to be fairly unimpressed if his lounge is held together with that stuff." Daniels muttered.

"Now darling, do you want to sleep in the dog house tonight?" The woman asked.

Daniel reluctantly handed the roll of Duct tape over, and shook his head. "Lounge manager is going to hate the new color scheme. Duct-Tape Silver." Daniel noted.

The woman shrugged. "That's what he gets for complaining about how security handled things. Wait until the Bolian comes down later to repaint."

"Isn't Shelv colorblind?" Daniels askd.

"He can see flourescent, and pastel colors." The woman noted.

Daniels laughed. "That's what the lounge manager gets for telling Chief how to do his job, I guess."

Ronnie had overheard the conversation and rolled her eyes. If they ever tried anything in science, she'd use them as lab rats.

"I'm out of Duct tape." The woman complained.

"Alright Myrna. Give me a minute." Daniels said, as he approached the replicator.

"That's Lieutenant Junior Grade Lire to you. We're not in a private setting." The woman, apparently Lieutenant Junior Grade Lire said.

"Myrna, we're off duty, and doing non-security work. You aren't even in uniform!" Daniels said, as he pointed at her rather form-fitting blue dress.

Ted heard the conversation between the security officers and yelled, "That's IT! ALL OF YOU! OUT! I'LL FIX IT MYSELF BEFORE I HAVE YOU FIX IT WITH DUCT TAPE!" He was pissed. There was no way in Hell, Gre'thor, Arreinye, or whatever afterlife you believed in that he would allow florescent and neons to be painted on his walls, or his wall fixtures held up with duct tape. No way.

"Then don't tell the Chief how to do his job next time. You aren't enlisted, you don't have the authority." Myrna growled, as she left the lounge. "He didn't even know we were doing this. It was my idea. You need to learn a little respect for Fleet officers."

"Who died, and made you Section Chief?" Daniels asked.

Myrna giggled, once they were outside the lounge. "Chief told me he needed an assistant. I volunteered. This is a 'trial' for a week."

Daniels laughed. "Could get used to it."

''Can I help?'' Erin enquired, turning to Ted.

''I promise I wont paint anything neon.'' She added with a grin.

Ted ignored her for a moment. "Shut the frack up! This is MY lounge! I report directly to the CO and XO. And I don't think Commander York would like the colors you fracktards are putting in here!"

Ted tapped his commbadge. "Turner to LCdr Sheridan. I need some help down in the lounge. They're destroying it with duct tape and neon colors!"

Commander Sheridan entered the lounge stepping over boxes and other debris. "Exactly what kind of drama requires my DNA at this location."

Ted turned back to the new woman. He didn't recognize her. "Know a good cure for wanting to wring a few necks?" He didn't think she was a counselor, but it wasn't a real question.

Ronnie shook her head. These guys were nuts. She nodded to the woman and to the lounge manager and went back to the bridge.

Ted turned to Sheridan. "Look at this!" He gestured excitedly to the security officer. "They're fixing the place with duct tape. DUCT TAPE!! Who authorized this??? And the colors?? We will use neon green over my dead body."

Sheridan looked around, it seemed thing were getting out of control.

"Well the colors aren't to bad, but I'm not sure about the engineering properties of duct tape..."

Ted scowled. "Then why don't you stop them. They won't listen to me even though I was told that I was the boss of the lounge and that I only answered to the CO and you. I got an idea. Can we duct tape these idiots to the wall?"

Sheridan saw direct orders would get the job done here...

"Mr. Turner you will not convince me to wallpaper the lounge with security officers, You security officers with find some traps for those ghezuns and get them contained.... yesterday! Ted get this placed squared away before I use your leg as bait for those traps." Sheridan shook his head and returned to the bridge stopping at the door to kick a dead ghezun across the lounge...

"What do you think I've been trying to do??" he shouted to Sheridan's retreating back. He turned back to the lounge and ran a hand through his hair. He didn't know what he was going to do with the lounge. It was a wreck. Plain and simple. It was a wreck no bones about it. And with the security officers leaving without being told to do it right (like that would teach them a lesson) he had no choice but to wait for engineering and ops. He'd already been waiting for three weeks. He scowled. He couldn't wait till his next assignment.
