Mission: Broken Mirror

[PREVIOUSLY]

"As do I." Sam nodded. "Yes, I think that would be an excellent idea. I'll ask the Knights if we can arrange for our intel team to tour their shuttle. Thank you for suggesting it. Do you have anything else you'd like to bring up?"

"As do I." Sam nodded. "Yes, I think that would be an excellent idea. I'll ask the Knights if we can arrange for our intel team to tour their shuttle. Thank you for suggesting it. Do you have anything else you'd like to bring up?"

"Only a concern that has already been brought up." Damion replied calmly. "I am concerned over our trip into the alternate universe. It's an unknown, and despite the Knight's assurances that they will be helping us trying to avoid a confrontation, it’s not a guarantee." He let out a sigh and crossed his arms over his chest. "I'm familiar with it. I've read reports of other encounters with those from there and those who've found themselves there. There are a lot of elements to worry about over there. Terran Empire. Klingon and Cardassian Alliance. Several other factions who wouldn't think twice to attacking a Starfleet ship just because it looks like a Terran Empire ship." He paused slightly, looking over to Joren for a second, before focusing on Sam. "As you know, my daughter is on board. She's still young. My wife and I are ready to go forward and take the risks, but Elsa, has yet to experience anything and I am concerned, as a first time father, whether her staying onboard is a smart idea."

"I understand. It's up to you and Ronnie. She can stay on board with you and we'll do our best to keep you all safe, you can let her spend some time with relatives, or Ronnie and Elsa could go together. I will help you with whatever you decide."

"I'll discuss it with Ronnie. We'll figure something out and I'll get back to you, Commodore." Damion replied before nodding at both of them.

"Thank you, and thank you for your suggestion," Sam said. "Unless you have more, we should go back onto the bridge."

Damion shook his head slightly before replying to her. "That's all. Maybe I'll put an extra set of eyes on our Chief Intelligence Officer just to be sure he doesn't try anything funny in the meantime." He gave them both a smirk before nodding his head. "Commodore. Commander." He soon turned to the door and made his way out of the Ready Room.

"Let's hope he's right about Batiste." She wasn't so sure, but she was willing to do ask for a tour of the Prowler.

"We'll deal with him if we have to, but for Batiste's sake, I hope he's right." Joren answered and nodded before turning towards the bridge.

Sam turned and walked back onto the bridge.

[Bridge]

Having stopped rubbing his hands over the arms of the chair, Aenar had settled in to reading briefing reports from his department. All had shown green across the board, save the arboretum. Once normalcy was restored he would have to check that out. The quiet, purposeful calm of the Bridge of a starship at warp relaxed him, and he settled back in to the chair with a quiet sigh as he turned to check status updates from other departments as they rolled in on the console next to him.

With nothing immediately occurring on the bridge, Bela headed back to Counseling. If someone needed her, they would know where to find her.

'Hey Bela,' Aenar called as he saw her passing, 'how do you think this fits me?' He grinned as he motioned to the area, he was sitting in.

"How what specifically fits you?" Bela asked with an amused glance. Starfleet uniforms were Starfleet uniforms.

The Bajoran rolled his eyes with another smile, 'the chair. Whaddya think?' he folded one leg over the other and struck a commanding expression. 'Should I trade the blue in for some red?'

Bela gave the Bajoran a flirtatious smile. "If that is what you want to do. What do you think is best for you? Do you want to make all those commanding decisions?"

'Depends on who I'd be commanding - fancy being my right hand?' Aenar answered with his own salacious smile.' He shrugged, 'not much more I could do if I wanted to make the big decisions, have a science ship of my own in the future.'

Bela had to giggle at the obvious flirtation, so for a retort she responded, "I think you have your own right hand, if needed." Her tone turned more serious, "So, do you want your own science ship?"

He wobbled his head. "Maybe, in time - nothing like the Calypso though, something smaller. Maybe an Intrepid or Luna class ship. Just head off into the black and go do some exploring, you know?"

"It sounds lovely," Bela admitted. "I would wish for nothing more in times of peace, but such a small ship.... It would not leave a lot of room for someone in my profession."

'There's always a need for someone to talk to,' Aenar replied with a smile, 'especially on a ship that small - and for a hug too!'

Bela laughed at that. Aenar was definitely a bold one, not that she minded. She countered, "Yes, but one might get bored with the lack of varieties for hugging."

'One or you?' Aenar teased. 'Can't believe you're discounting all the new systems you'd come across - there'd be someone new in a new port every week.'

"Oh," Bela replied raising her eyebrows, "So you're already shuffling me off to other ports and other people. I see how it is...."

'On the contrary, Counsellor,' Aenar smiled widely, 'I'm not making a claim to your exclusivity. I think freedom suits you, no?'

"I think that would depend on the claim. After all, I am but a humble servant of Starfleet."

Arching an eyebrow, Aenar then smiled again, 'I don't think you have much to be humble about - you seem more than capable in your work, Counsellor.'

Bela gave Aenar a grateful nod. "Whatever is ours is yours. It does not suit one well to be overly proud. Our purposes are greater in serving the greater good. I believe Vulcans' phraseology, while different, espouses the same. The shame about Vulcans is they have a tendency to be rather practical and prudish except during their pon farr."

'Wouldn't you really let loose if you had to suppress your drive for seven years at a time? No hugging at all!' Aenar said with mock-horror, 'could you imagine?'

"Oh, that would definitely be something to experience. I have yet to give a Vulcan Jamaharon. I've often been curious on how that would work with one of them." She shifted her thoughts and said, "But no, I could not imagine a universe without touch and suppressing emotion. That's probably why I do not have a Vulcan clientele'."

[Sick Bay]

Newmark was busying himself with programming the medical data that he had from the Prowler Personnel, comparing their ambient signature from the universe the Calypso will be entering to the one of the Calypso Crew origin.

The data would help interior sensors 'note' entry of being not from the Calypso universe, then it is up to General scans to narrow the margin then Tricorder search should it come to that.

He would be at this for a while.
